Very cool Booster cables!

Post by Walt »

A friend of mine just bought Warn Booster Cables. It's a very nice setup. It uses a Warn Winch connector plug to connect the set of 16' 4 guage booster cables to your existing Winch connector. But the set also includes an extra connector with 4 guage wires and ring terminals to connect to your battery. So even if you don't have a winch, it's a neat way to use booster cables without having to open the hood :D Some people could probably make a set more cheaply, but it's still a cool product.

That is a good idea

I have one of those connectors on my subs to quick disconnect my 0 gauge wire and it has never given me any problems.

I have thought about making a set of cables like that, since I have already added the connections front and rear for the hitch mouned winch.

I probably should just cut the cables that I have and add the connector in them so that I can still use them for normal jumper cables on the vehicles that do not have the quick connects.

The ones I bought for my subs are called anderson power connectors.

http://www.andersonpower.com/products/mp/mp.html

it comes with 2 connectors (there is no female or male you just turn one upside down and plug them in) and 4 contacts that you crimp on. So if you bought these connectors you could take the jumper cable you already have and crimp on one of these connectors and it would cost you about 1/8 of what those warn jumpers cost. :D

kinda expensive, I bet you could get everything you need at a welding supply store for 1/2 that price, 4ga wire can be picked up anywhere, stereo shop or home depot, and may even have the plug at home depot, I have the same setup on my service truck, I have had that setup for about 2 yrs now, same ends and everything, I just used welding cable instead,

2 guage welding lead is about $0.79/foot here :D

I need ideas on where to mount the Mile Marker Control Box. It comes with a bracket to mount it to the top of the Winch, but I don't think it will fit with my push bar on the front then.
