WAAG Sportster survival test

Post by Walt »

I got my WAAG Sportster pushbar mounted a few days ago, and I bought a pair of black 150 watt KC Daylighters to match it. These lights are AWESOME! I can really light up the three acres infront of my truck

Now for the really important news. I had a small wreck today. Well, to clarify, someone hit me while I was parked. I had just pulled into the parking lot at Pizza Inn and was waiting on someone, when this dingdong comes cruising into the parking lot (BTW, I was parked backwards in the spot, so my front was facing out). The started to turn like it was turning in the space beside me, but it was going to fast and the front wheels lost grip. The car slid into the front of my truck! Directly impacting the push bar. I'd say the impact speed was probably between 10-15mph (like I said the idiot was going to fast). I got out of my truck ready to fight, and I walked around to the front of my truck and started laughing

I wish I had taken a picture (dig. camera is at home). There are a few minor scratches on the rubber molding on the front of the push bar, but the funny thing is: I put a HUGE "V" in the car's front bumper! Definitely going to require some bodywork to fix that. Possibly a new front bumper. Plus I think his radiator was leaking/smoking/whatever because steam was going from under the hood.

He was pretty ticked off, and he started cursing me after I started laughing at him. That only made me laugh all the more. After I calmed down (about five minutes later), he said he was calling the police and his insurance and that I would have to pay for the damage that my push bar did. Then I reminded him that I was **parked** and he was moving, therefore it is automaticaly his fault. So we ended up deciding to let things go since it was his fault and my vehicle wasn't damaged.

This only reaffirms my belief that I bought the right product---and that every truck owner should have a push bar to protect against stupidity from cars and their owners :D

I will post pics of the Push bar and KC lights mounted on my truck as soon as I can get my camera back.

That is awesome.

The only thing I used my grillguard for besides pushing copiers and baskets down the street was to pull up on my friend's bumper and do burnouts at stoplights and scare the sh*t out of the ppl next to us.
