skid plates for 2002 crew cab sonoma

Post by mjmcdowell »

Ok, I am new to this forum, I found it when I was looking for some information on skid plates for my CC 4x4 2002 sonoma. I found all the old posting and read with intrest all of them and lots of other topics, this is good stuff. I went to GM parts web site and found the #'s for the factory plates then went down to my dealer and ordered the 2 packages , one with front /steering, engine and transfer case and the one for the gas tank. They are dealer installed at this posting. Now as has been said before there are differnt materials used for these 4 plates , On mine the front/steering and engine ones are aluminum, the transfer case is a rather thick and hopefully substancal composit, ( I think graphite composition but not positive and can not get any positive answer as to material but will keep trying) and finaly the gas tank plate is a full coverage steel and thick enough. I have equiped this truck with the following, front brush/grillgard vent shades door sill protectors, fire ext. ,tubelar side steps/nerff bars, tool box(delta composit) bed liner siderail protectors, bed extender w/ custom net(s) cl. II hitch , rear bumperett/step (fits in reciever tube), draw bar w/shackle for towing/recovery, hi lift jack ,snatch strap, tow strap 2 ton comalong, axe, shovel and saw, wrangler tires, monroe sensi-trac shocks, onex black in color. all in all it has been a very capable rig. be safe, mjmcdowell
