fender flares over on ZR2.com
Mike LS1 on ZR2.com has made some fender flares for s series pickups and 2 door blazers that will fit a 35 on a stock ZR2. He 1st made the p/u flares then after many request he is now making 2 door blazer flares. I have contacted him and requested he make or change the molds to fit our crews. There are pics and comments on ZR2.com in the forums section under flare and mudflaps. Check out Mikes truck it is blue and bad a$$.

Good luck, he's got enough problems with getting the ZR2 flares out, much less re do an entire rear set. You can fit 35s with cutting on the fire wall, 33s would be a perfect fit. The flares make the front fenders 37"s and the rears 36"s, but with our trucks huge front fenders and small rears (maybe 33.5") would just look funny

Brad,
The timing would be in months, not years. There are a few things I need to work through. As you can imagine, it is not cheap to make these molds. I would have to sell a number of flares just to recoup my investment, let alone make a profit. I would also need a flare to work from. I would have to buy a set of rear flares to start with.
Do you really think there is enough interest to make this worthwhile? What size tire are most of the people wanting to run? Are they willing to cut the metal on a new truck to install these?
Mike
This is the last email I had with Mike. If there is enough demand he will make cutouts for crews.

I think He is talking about doing Cut-out Flares. If that is indeed the case the fronts would be important too.Warnoffroad wrote:im in for a set, all he really needs to make a set of rears to fit our trucks. the bushwakers fit the front great, or so I hear from HJ
The Cut-out Flares would be nice for going 32" or bigger tires, keep in mind that regearing is a must.
They may also allow for less rearspacing to be used, too.
Keep in mind that Cut-outs would require as much or more work than modding Bushwackers to fit.
If you are after the big tires, it would definately be worth investing in LS1's Flares.
If you're sticking to smaller tires, the Bushwackers are no more work.
I'm happy with mine as is

The front flares are going to be the same as the P/U. I have been approached by a few people asking for crew cab flares. I am looking into making those.
I guess you guys need to tell me, if I make them, will you buy them?

flares...
I have got the molds almost complete and as soon as I get my truck back I will finish them front and rear. They should be about .250 wider than the bushwacker models with more style. I will be molding them from .250 ABS with a UV inhibitor. When complete I plan on starting on the cut out versions. I am hoping to have my truck back by the end of March. My wife and I are launching a new buisness with molded products for OffRoad vehicles. Fender flares to start then vehicle specific molded subwoofer enclosures, A Pillar gauge mounts, etc. I you have a specific model that you would like to see plese give me a shout and we can add it to the list. We will also offering Sport Compact molded parts as well.
