Powerdyne or not???
I have a 03 Crew with just about 3K miles on it, with motor now broken in and I am planning to install a Powerdyne Supercharger. I have heard so many negatives a a few positives regarding Powerdyne. I am ready to buy it, money ready to go but I just have some doubts after reading some of the comments on other sites regarding Powerdyne bearings, service, instructions, to name a few....I am not a racer by any means just really want more power, the car is used daily to/from work mostly freeways.. I have a 83' Ext Cab S10 which I put a SBC, 305 cu in which I love the power and wish the 4.3 Crew had more of which is my reason for supercharging...
Just need alittle more reassurance if Powerdyne is the right choice.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I don't think there are enough out there for you to determine if the opinions will help you. IIRC there is only two companies that make bolt on super chargers for the s10 so that should make it easier to decide. I've been thinking about more power also but I think a muffler and air intake is all I'm planning now. I think there is two Crew owners here who have a Super charger. Maybe they can chime in.
Good Luck,
Con

snowsurfer, I too have been seriously thinking about that same super charger. What have you hear bad about it? Its not giving the bang for the buck, or it's junking up the motor?

Powerdyne
I've seen numerous reviews that the bearings go bad due to a low quality bearing used which results in replacement in bearings and drive belt after 20K miles. In fact there's a couple of guys selling replacement bearings and belt kits on e bay, powerdyne does not sell replacement parts and require you to send them the unit.
Also some complaints that the bolt holes don't line up, instructions are really poor, missing/wrong parts and poor assistance from customer service. What I did notice was that very few of the reviews were from S10 owners, not sure why???
I live in Hawaii and getting product help is hard to begin with, just want to be sure it's as easy as they say it is to install.
The price is it's most attractive feature I guess...
Best Price I could find was 2300.00....
I'll share any info if you like, e mail me directly SEAYAHAWAII@hawaii.rr.com

Powerdyne vs. other superchargers
Actually Powerdyne is the lowest price at around 2400.00 depending on application, I believe Vortech and others are in the 3.5-4K price range.
I've e mailed with another member previously that has the Powerdyne and his installation went smoothly and was happy with the performance. Like I said the reviews on Goggle for Powerdyne weren't very flattering and in fact most were dissasatisfied with it overall....again most of them were for other cars or trucks, (not sure why different?)
