OK, I've been thinking again of the possibility of adding a 2" BL to my 5" TM lift. I have been measuring and I think I may be able to fit 33's with less trimming, also get the advantages of more room under the hood and the body away from the rocks.
Anyhow a few ?:
1. Any noticable cooling problems?
2. Do others here move the bumpers up or is it ok to leave in stock location. I really didn't like the flimsy bumper mounts of the 2" PA lift. Is there anybody who makes the BL lift with stock like bumper brackets?
front bumper does not need the suggested brackets...I just bent the stock ones to make the front bumper look normal. As for the rear, I had a roll pan so you may want to ask someone elses opinion.
No steering column problems. I can pretty much fit my index finger between the manifold and the column
No cooling problems. Truck ran around 200 before the BL, 200 after

No, however I added a couple filler strips to the shroud spacers to seal the opening. I used 1/4" thick 2" wide teflon.

I think the front would look funny not raised (IMO), The bumpers are flimsy (at best) already! If you want something there for protection add a front bar or aftermarket bumper, and raising it will benifit your clearance issues. As for the rear , it is a bit more substantial than the front, probably since it is used as a step . Put a hitch on and you're good.

Seriously, my only concern would be the front end handling those 33's without breaking anything.
and IMO the bumpers would not look right if they werent raised. the rear bumper brackets seem stronger than the stock ones that i have. they are 1/8" thicker steel for sure.

Maybe the kit that I returned about a year ago was a cheapy. I think it was PA made them. The rear bumper bracket was just flat instead of forming a "C" like the stock one. I can just see one bump on a rock or tree and my bumper would be sideways. Got a pic of what yours came with and what brand?
I have a spare set of rear bumper brackets...If you ever decide to buy the body lift, you can have my brackets for free(pay for shipping) and you can weld the two together to get increased strength .....thats if it can be done

It sounds like you may have received the old kit PA 152?
The PA 192 comes with the "C" rear bumper brackets as Hobie described.

Seriously, who makes the PA 192 kit and where's a good place to get one. Yeah, Mr. I_Hate_body_Lift_Kits is thinking about it.
Performance Accessories makes it. I thought Summit sold them, but I couldn't find it on their website. Just check around the net for "PA 192 body lift"...I'm sure you'll find someplace for cheap.

I'd say the quality is good , don't use the fuel hose extension, redrill the hole in the filter relocation brackets, and check to see if all the parts are there before you start! I had extra parts, so someone got shorted

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, I keep thinking suspension lift but then I look at the price tag. Then I look at the price for a 2" BL. Basically just move that decimal place back and forth! I may go BL for now. The price tag looks better. I still want that 5" TM kit though but it's gonna have to wait a bit.

Probably was the old. I originally ordered it with the 5" TM kit, cause I was gonna put 33's on it, but the bumper bracket was a real disappointment. But now, it sounds like they have improved the kit.
So it may be in the works. I am going to try to plan to do it about the time my 31's wear out, which may be next year the rate I am going. put about 22k miles on them and still got more than half tread left it looks. And it's getting into Harley riding weather. Putting the bike together this weekend, plus I've been driving my project Camaro. LOL.

Definately do some rear gap gaurds, Please. (It is embarasing to see light through your gap )
You will have to do some drilling to install them. If you have an outlet for the parts? I built my own out of some 1/8" belting, and used the same push in trim fasteners (for 1/4" hole , available through auto parts or fastener supply) I buy them in bulk and can get 100 count boxes for about $5.
You should be able to get everything you need for under $20.

Here is what it says on PA's website:

they just say that for liability. believe me, the bumper brackets are actually strong than the stock ones.
the reason i know this is because, i went to install a draw tie hitch and it wouldnt fit cuz the new bumper brackets were that much thicker than the stock ones
