Wowzers! If that shop down there does a really good job on yours, some year, I'll just have to drive down there and get my truck done when I am ready! My wife and I got friends down there, maybe we can make a vacation out of it.

Well, I do have a second ride now (86 Camaro). So I have all the time in the world now when ever I go SFA.
I wouldn't mind doing it myself if I had a set of blue prints and parts list. I just don't want to fudge around wasting money on trying this and that.
Maybe the guy can give you blue prints and a specific parts list/numbers for what kinda leaf/springs/shocks, pitman, all that stuff he is using?
I know, too much to ask for.

He used 7" toyota springs, 12 inch U bolts, and 2 d44s. Thats all I know, most of the stuff he makes. And he puts it together as he goes, but if your going to do it your self crzykev02@aol.com email him. Hes the kid with the gold 4 door blazer that did his SFA for under $2000 on his drive way.

Yup thats one of the best parts about this project!!! Finally this thing sits on a tire size that im proud of! I orderd a set of 35x12.5 BF MTs (thats right, I didnt get swampers this time ) on a set of 15x10 AR chorme mod wheels. I got them in and they are alot bigger than I thought. My mom was like those arent truck tires, whos tractor did you take those off of?

are all the bracketry and pieces specially made (laser cut) and if so does he have the patterns? Wonder if they would be willing to sell the pieces and some drawings on how to install?
www.eastcoastoffroad.com was the nearest offroad 4x4 specialty shop that I believe could handle a SFA kit....
I am now interested....Only problem is turning the 35's. I think a supercharger would be needed

I dont think they put a sway bar on. The ride isnt too bad, just very stiff up front. 35s with 4.11 gears, i'll prolly end up going with 4.88.

The guy in my building at work with the 2003 Dodge 2500 Heavy Duty 4x4 was giving me a hard time yesterday about when I was going to get a "real truck". I just said I was "going to lift it so back off!" Now I can show him a picture of your truck!!!

Plus you can add to the argument that there are a lot of places off road where our smaller trucks can go that his full size just won't fit!

His truck weighs over 6000 lbs!!! Plus, with his long bed, he said that since his wheelbase is so long, it's easy to get high centered!!! Gentlemen (or any Gentlewomen out there), we've found a weakness....

From what I've seen and heard, the Hummer (H1, not the Yuppie H2) was great during Desert Storm and similar off road conditions but they are pretty much worthless in most of the stuff we get into. Their size and weight count against them big time. Of course, most of the people who buy them never take them off road anyway. They just want to look good at the country club!
every truck has different purposes
a H1 has indepedent front and rear suspension. anyone notice? it also, some how put the diffs on the actual wheel. i dont know too much about it, but thats the way i understand it.
so that gives it 22 inces of clearence right in the middle.
so its perfect going 60mph thru the desert and flying over bushes and what not. and the low center of gravity is awesome on the vehicle.
and no a H1 could never go where i go cuz its too big. and if i ever lifted the truck to 35's and had a good crawl ratio with solid axels, the crewcab would leave the hummer behind on any trail esp in the mountains where you are climbing 60 degree inclines on slippery sandy rocks

Yep thats why I went with the the s-10 cc. The day I got my truck I was also looking at the 2500 HDs. They were just to big to drive, and the $ diff. I could get a FULLY loaded s-10 for the same $ as a ext cab 2500 HD that only had a CD player.
