back spacing ?

Post by ZIGGY K »

i have a 2" B.L. on the crew,
if i run a 31x10.5x15 on a 5 1/2" back spacing wheel, it will obviosly help with the rubbing on the frame and sway bar then if i run the 6" b.s. wheel. My ? is ,will i pay with more rubbing on the back side of the front fender? Will a half inch make that much difference with a small 31.

won't be doing any off roading, all for appearance.i just wasn't sure if 1/2" of back spacing would make that much difference with clearance on the fender.

another thing to think about is whether you are going to run a 8" or 7" wide wheel. 5.5" BS will only move the tire/wheel combo out a half inch on a stock 7 inch wide wheel. but on an 8 inch wheel, 5.5" BS moves the tire/wheel combo out an inch and a half.

also upgrading a 30X9.50 tire (like Jeffs) to a 31X10.50 (what you're planning) is going to move the outside edge of the tire/wheel combo out another half inch further and toward the fender another half inch then what is pictured.

just some things to think about, don't want to see you shred up some nice new tires.
