I've looked at it a little bit.bubaloo1983 wrote:hey henry just out of curisousity do you know anything about the full size ifs swap? what year would swap in? cost?...
Most any differential could be made to work. I like the Ford 9" for the availability and cost of parts.
The biggest hurdle in the whole swap is the axles, and I haven't done enough research to say what would be the best. Lots of custom machining will be involved so expect big $$$$

Just what I have readbubaloo1983 wrote:...do you know anything about that mike guys truck? i think i heard you mention he had a full size ifs under there.
Depends on what you want to do with it. For crawling and mud, SFA. For rally and high speed IFS.do you think its an advantage over a sfa? or sfa still tougher
IFS has an advantage where the differential is up and protected. This aids clearance. The wheel travel is straight up and down, as opposed to the SFA which is radiused. Is it worth the huge amount of extra work? Probably only for a limited few.
