ZQ8 Stiffening bar???

I just found a bar that goes on the factory ZQ8 Trucks that ties the frame together just behind the cab. Does this really do much? Will it fit a crew cab. And do you really ned it on a 4wd truck? Also I just installed some Monroe Load supporting shocks. They went in pretty easy except the sway bar I installed had to removed in order to get them in.... We'll see if they give it a harsh ride. They do have progressive rate springs and self adjusting gas shocks, so who knows...
