New Wheels
i have a few questions for you fellas. Im looking for new wheels and would like to go with a 16in wheel but will settle for a 15in.I just need to know on a 16in wheel what backspacing will i need to get my truck to sit the same 6in , or can i go down to something like 3.5-4.5 and not have the wheels stick out to far and same gos for a 15in wheel what is the least amount of backspacing i can have . It is seeming hard to find any wheel with 6in backspacing and i dont want steel wheels for my ROAD QUEEN. Thanks in advance for any help.

I got a 15" diameter wheel with 4" backspace and the treads rub the fender at about 3/4 turn. I'd imagine that increasing the diameter to 16" would make it even worse. so, much so that even a 5" backspace would rub.
I guess it depends on the tire as well. a smaller sidewall dimension would compensate for the increase in wheel diameter. but, the wheel wells are just too tight to allow for much deviation from stock up front.

The wheel diameter will not affect the clearance issues, other than perhaps limit the tire selection.
The rear spacing applies to all diameter wheels. The more you deviate from the stock 15"x 7" wheel with 6" rear spacing and a maximum of a 9.25" wide 29" tall tire , the closer to hitting the rear of the front fender you will get.
I would say that 4.75" rear spacing is pushing the limits, and would require using a slightly smaller tire to compensate. A 30" tire would probably be the biggest? With a 2" BL.

Re: New Wheels
Jeff, I've got some like new chrome 16" Centerlines for sale in the Classifieds. They have 1" less backspace then stock so they sit out 1" more. Personally, I think they look much better than the stock flat wheels. I took them off and put the stockers back on and it looks so GAY with the stock wheels after having the nice Centerlines on. The stock wheels look like they're hiding in the wheelwells!jeff024 wrote:i have a few questions for you fellas. He has polished also.
I have the painted version on mine. Chrome was too much bling.

same height as the stock tires just fatter, the inch difference in the rim makes up for the 75 to the 70 ratio.

Yep, with the 16" rims on my Jimmy I have 235/70/16 on the front and 255/65/16 on the rear (same diameter just slightly wider) I did have 255/65 on all 4 but since the wheels have 1" less backspace the front tires would rub on the bottom of my fender.Jim wrote:235 / 70 / 16n0m4d wrote:Jim, What size tires do you have with those rims?

If you like them, that's what's important! I looked at those wheels when I bought my new wheels back in May but they're everywhere around here on S-series because the choices are so few. That's what I like about my Centerlines, I haven't seen another S-series with them yet!

I concur
White lettering out looks good on your CC. I just needed all the black that I could lay my hands on for my "school bus

I agree. On my Centerlines I did black side out because I didn't like the lettering on the Yoko tires. I love the big letters on my Deulers. This weekend I'm getting my ZR5 wheels mounted and the Deulers will again be showing their white letters!jeff024 wrote:I always have put the white out.
