Do you perform your own service work, oil changes, brakes, tune-up?

It is no more difficult than that, just time consuming.

Set aside three days to do the job.

Make VERY sure that all the parts match the inventory.

Read the threads here on the installs others have done.

Download the PDF instructions and read them a couple times. Get a friend to come over for moral support and a spare set of hands.

Worst case , jump on here and we can talk you through it.

Unless you are really not mechanically inclined, I think anybody can do it!

Brule's right...it's no harder than an oil change...just a lot more steps. Allow about 12 hours to do it. Make sure you find all the tips you can in posts here to know what's coming before you get to it. Definitely try to have an extra set of hands or two around to help with the bigger items (lifting bed, lining up bumper, etc.). It's a job that can be completed by a novice, so don't psych yourself out of it. And just think of the satisfaction you'll get when you can tell all your friends that you lifted your truck yourself. :D

BC is on the Pacific coast right? Maybe you can drive down to Brule's place in Oregon? Don't you love how I volunteer you for work?

Oh, THANKS ALOT! ;) j/k

I'd be happy to help anyone who shows up , if I can :D

I would have offered, but I didn't think that traveling that far would be an option.

Guess I should be careful  Bennie made the trip from Lemoore, CA , to do his lift. :D

Dont forget you need common sense. too.. I say do it and if you run into problems pop in here and ask someone for help that is what I did when I ran into problems.. OH IF YOU HAVE THE KIT check the rear bumper bracets.. when you put them side by side the bolt holes should line up. that will mean you got both the left and right bracket... look at the pictures.. I say remove the rear bumper first.. oh and the bottom of the fan shroud DOES NOT MOUNT in the original location.. read the instructions about for step ahead before installing the fan shroud.. I broke mine to bits..

Where'd you get your lift?

Post by hughbee »

Hey bubaloo - where did you get your lift, I've been to Lordco, and No limit off road - (I won't go to NSOR- overpriced) Everybody says that trailmaster doesn't make a lift for a 2002 Sonoma/s10 - do they make it. or does the kit for the 2001 work on the 2002 and 2003?
