Alternatives to Bilsteins?

Alternatives to Bilsteins?

I cannot seem to track down the Bilstein shocks suggested for these trucks, part numbers 137174 and 137179.

My question is does anyone have the extended and collapsed measurements of these so I can find a suitable alternative?

Edit: I even searched Bilstein's website and came up with nothing. :shrug:

Looks like they have gone up $7 each. I should order a new set for the Avalanche, but the stock Bilsteins still feel pretty good at 100k miles.

The factory Bilsteins on my 05 ZR2 were replaced around 100k because they were getting a little mushy, however they were not leaking and still would easily outperform new GM shocks. I've tried a lot of the "good" shocks out there like Edelbrock, Rancho, KYB, Pro Comp, etc and IMHO their really is no good substitute for these shocks, that's why I run them on all my cars. They're are better shocks than even the mighty Bilsteins, but all of them are really expensive and not worth it unless you race your vehicle as a hobby or professionally.

I've got a set of these to put on my yj, 13 inch travel if I remember correctly. It currently has a superlift 3.5 inch lift with generic white shocks, and is possibly the roughest riding vehicle I've ever owned. I was actually thinking about the better bilsteins or maybe a set of the bbcs (if they would fit, only 3 lengths, 11, 13, 15 inch travel) for the s10. But, bilsteins have been ordered. I'm really not sure how or why I couldn't find them.

Bilstein shocks:
Front part number 24-016810
Extended length: ~16 inches
Collapsed length: ~11 inches

Rear part number 24-014106
Extended length: ~23.5 inches
Collapsed length: ~16 inches
