Newbie MML Questions?
Hello All,
I am new to this form and I have a couple of questions. First I really like the MML lift. That being said, I dont wont to go throught the trouble of trying to find Skidz fender flares and I am in need of facts and opinions. I would like to do the MML lift with the exception of the skidz and 33x9.50's. I need to know if 31x10.5 or equivalent metric size tire would fit with the MML minus the skidz. If so, would it look dumb with just 31's. Any pics and opinions/facts would be helpful. Thanks,
Tim

Re: Newbie MML Questions?
Welcome to the forum! Yes, you can run 31's with the MML and no Skidz flares and it will look fine. Most of the members here have gone that route since the Skidz flares were only made in limited numbers. If you wanted to run 33's you would need the flares and/or have to open up the wheel opening to make more room. I ran 31's on stock rims with a 2" BL, 1-1/2" t-bar crank, and 1-1/2" lift shackles with no problems other than a little frame rub up front when turning all the way in either direction.

Ok, lets say I do the MML minus the skidz. With the BSW kit in the rear will it sit noticibly higher in the back or will it sit level? What iam looking for more than anyting is to be able to run 30's/31's with the truck decently level. I will be towing a 18' pontoon boat sometimes.

Re: Newbie MML Questions?
What gears do you have? If you have the 3.42 stick with the 31" tire. If you have 3.73 go bigger. Check out jedthrocornpone's truck in the reader's ride thread That is what I would do today. Make the Skidz cuts and run 33x10.5 tires.
BSW kit will have the rear slightly higher than the front. Not quite level. Close to stock GM rake. You will lose a little with time and loading heavy.

no flares needed.......... I just cut the fenders and ran 33's and I love it! that and I went for the KM2 mud terrains.......and a 1 pcs P/S axle. enjoying my 3.73's but I must admit I am dreaming about 4.10's
good luck and enjoy your CC

I have also been thinking about getting 33'' tires for my cc with the 6'' SL. HenryJ I know you said you would need 3.73 gears to run a 33'' tires. As far as i know the gears are stock, which i am not sure what that is. How do i get them to 3.73?

Check the glove box RPO code for your gearing.

Re: Newbie MML Questions?
Bummer. going bigger than 31" , I see a re-gear in your future. don't bother thinking about 4.56. The front set will just not handle it.MinnesotaMudder wrote:i looked it up it is a 3.42

Re: Newbie MML Questions?
Oh, yes. It will not be optimal for power or mileage, but it will work. It seems like that was the combination Steve had with his 6" SL.
