Another Tire ?

Post by ZIGGY K »

I know not all c.c.'s are the same ... But , with a 2" b.l., a trim of 1 3/4" off the back front fender, and no t-bar crank YET... can i sneek a 15x7 wheel with a 4" b.s. and 31" tires under the truck without much rubbing ? or do i need a rim with more back spacing ? THANKS !

With only 4" of backspacing you will rub absolutely :( Unless you get Bubaloo's cutout flares :D

You mention a cut of 1 3/4". The Skidz flares only remove 1 5/8".
I really don't think it is possible to gain more than the cuts made for installing the Skidz flares.

Now, if you are willing to make those cuts, then it is possible that the combination may just work.

I'm running 15x8 wheels with 4" of backspacing and BFG AT KO 31x10.5x15's with Bubaloo's flares and don't rub at all.

Wait, correction, I have rubbed ONCE :D We were trying to trap a cow a few days ago and I had to drive pretty fast through the pasture back to the main gate to close it. I went airborne two or three times. Truck handled great :D I did notice the next morning that I had some clean rub spots on the inner fender well on one side

I had my tires and body lift befor the suspention lift came in and i mounted the tires and eyed it i could of cleared the 32" tire with triming. They may have rubed off road but overall it would have been ok. So go for it ! If you need more clearce a small tb crank is still on the table. :P
2001 cc 2" pa body lift traded
2004 cc zr5 2" pa body lift 6" super lift 2" rear shackle and tb crank traded for a v-max Silverado

It was terrifying

Until my friend in the passenger seat got out to check his pants and said "man where did you learn how to drive like that?", then it was fairly satisfying :D
