Tires, Mileage, & Performance

Post by killian96ss »

What tires are you, or were you running and how long did they last? How would you rate them on asphalt, snow, rocks, mud, rain, and ice? How about the noise factor? Any flats? Maybe you could rate them from 1-10, 1 being horrible, and 10 being excellent.

I have 31" Goodyear MT/R's
I currently have 40k miles on mine with about 1/4" of tread left. :D
Never had a flat tire. :D
Asphalt - 7
Snow (unpacked) - 8
Snow (packed) - 6
Rocks - 10
Mud - 7
Rain - 7
Ice - 4
Noise - 7

Overall I am very happy with these tires and will be getting them again. If they were siped they would be much better. I might have my next set siped by someone who has the machine to do it. Am I missing anything that would help others in choosing a tire for their purposes?

Dayton Timberland Mud Terrains

33"

i have about 10,000 miles on them, with little wear.
no flats, but they're still relatively new

Asphalt - 7
Snow (unpacked) - haven't had the chance
Snow (packed) - haven't had the chance
Rocks - don't really want the chance :?
Mud - 8.5
Rain - 7 handle like a mud tire
Ice - haven't had the chance
Noise - hehehe, 5 :D

Overall I'm really impressed with this tire, especially since they're fairly cheap. Real open tread design and sidewall lugs for extra bite.

I'm running 31x10.5x15 BFG All Terrain KO's on stock wheels.
Never had a flat :)
I have about 4K miles on them.

Asphalt - 9
Snow (unpacked) - N/A
Snow (packed) - N/A
Rocks - 90
Mud - 8
Rain - 9
Ice - N/A
Noise - 6

There is an explanation to the noise rating... When I first got the tires, they were perfectly silent....no they have a definite hum. No audible over the radio, but more than I thought they would.

Mud traction is good. They're no MT's, but they do the job.

Hopefully it'll snow again down here before I get a new set of tires

Wed pavement traction is excellent. I feel 100% safer in my CC in bad weather than I did with my wranglers.

peace!
