Superlift

Post by Steve2003 »

OK I know Superlift has been getting a really bad rap on here and I've been guilty of it myself. I took my truck in today to SoCal Super Trucks to have my upper and lower ball joints replaced and I started talking with the owner Casey who's a really cool dude. SuperTrucks has done thousands of lifts here in SoCal but they have never done a CrewCab. I wish I would have had them do mine, but I didn't, Gary's Sports Truck did mine, big mistake. Anyway's after talking to Casey he told me that they have done a lot of lifts on two wheel drive S10's and have been seeing problems. The lifts they do is CST and fabtech on the 2wd's S10's. He said that the CST are not having as many problems as the fabtech but he said that the main problem is the S10 itself. The ball joints , the CV's, etc. were just not made well. So he said he was going to work with me and we are going to do a maintence routine on my truck and we are going to look for problem spots that may occur. According to what he told me there's nothing wrong with the Superlift it's just some weak parts that come with the S10.

he is correct. s-10 ifs has weak parts. anything over 31's is gonna have rapid wear. anytime you do something to any vehicle that it wasnt designed to do, things will wear out quicker or not work exaclty right. its the price you pay for modding your ride.

my new truck has 35's and the stock ps pump cant keep up and so its hard to turn sometimes.

Just for the record, BDS does not make a lift for the 2wd S-10.

You might be right, what I meant to say was FabTech instead of BDS, my bad. I guess I am working too many hours and maybe had one too many beers last night. Anyway, I got my truck back today, had the upper and lower ball joints replaced with boog ball joints and my truck drives better than before I bought it. Now when I turn into my driveway I don't here clunkity clunk! anymore :D
