ya i did get those extra instructions for step 30, so your saying im not supposed to have the rubber hose and use the other metal extension and bracket and hope it fits mine? i think it will work with mine, yours is a newer zr5, mines a 97 blazer..your very new zr5 could be slightly different, who knows...yours is the new sl6 fit series kit right? doesnt it actually say 95-03 and yours is a 04, maybe thats why..
thanks
thanks
somecrew check it all.
chvyblazin97 , same kit i have , ya i hav an 04 could be the problem. but the line i got was out off he bag so could off been the wrong one all together.

if you go back and look at the old thread of when the guy from the sl site (he was some rep for them) was here talking about the kit i was all flustered bc they said 95-03 well i am one of the few as well that have an 04 and i was mad bc i didnt think a shop would install it or if it would line up so i could install myself he insured me that it would fit just like any of the earlier years so it should be the same besides there werent any major modifications made to the crew between 03 and 04
somecrew i would got through all of the parts in the kit if i were you. superlift could have forgotten any part for the kit so the only way to be sure you have everything is look at every part. heck they forgot one of my torsion bar drop brackets.....not exactly just some missing hardware. i know going through everything sounds like a pain but that'll be the easiest part of your entire install......trust me on that.

Looks really good. The only thing I would change is put the white lettering on your tires on the inside instead of out.

Jeggers, what kind of center caps do you have for your 397s. Looks like you have chrome in the back and nothing in the front. I got the cragar center caps that they sale with the 397s and chrome lug nuts. My buddy has the same thing only he painted his black and used black lug nuts. Here are a couple of pics.

OK, well after day 1, here is how it went.
Noone showed up except me and Ryan (4-wheel tech).
We worked on it for about 6 hours or so. Got the whole front dissasembled. Marked the frame for cutting, and tomorrow ready to cut and finish the front end. Also order TB keys today because with that heavy brush guard, I may need a little more for those 35s..
Speaking of which, i went today and got the 35"s mounted on my new wheels......SEXY!

Anyone who installed a superlift kit, I have a question needs answering about the front end.
Did anyone have to do any extra cutting on the rear lower control arm mount to make that crossmember fit right? The cut I am talking about is so the top flange with the 2 bolt holes can sit up in the mount so all the holes line up.... If so, this cut is not in the instructions, just looks like it needs to be done..

Superlift is whooping my butt....
Now I have a defective part. The centerlink is bad, the mount for the pitman arm was welded on wrong and is too twisted to fit the arm... I called Superlift, and they said they will have me the new part by Wednesday. So thats 2 days wasted. We would have had the front end completed today if it wasnt for this...

Somecrew, Is the pitman and idler arm at the same angle? If yes did you try to flip it around the mount for the steering stabilizer should face the rear. Just a thought I know this kit is no picnic to install and this late in the game you could be missing the easy stuff , I know I was.
Rusty, don't let the this thread discourage you, the kit , once installed, woks great. I had the truck back in for alignment today and it running great! I drove it about 70 miles and no problems. seams the tb were a little too cranked. I dropped it about 1.5" and the alignment shop said it was much easy to work on this time.
Somecrew, I know you have big plans for your rig, so I just want to let you know you may have problems with cranking the bars with the sl kit.

Sorry to hear you guys are having so much problems with superlift . I just want to say that I am very pleased with my SL6, did some pretty good wheeling yesterday and my truck did great . I think Superlift must have guys working in the back room putting these kits together that are a quarter of a bubble off . I know when I took my truck in to have it done, they told me they would have it done in a day and a half, it ended up taking them 5 full days. I know that the deal with my skid plate and the 110 mm socket head bolts ended up being a big pain in the A!!! I don't regret having the 6SL installed and would do it again I just think these trucks were never meant to be lifted and that's why the lifts are so difficult. Good luck to you Jeggers and SomeCrew

You snuck that in there before I managed to post that last posting. Glad things are working out better for you, it is indeed a good lift. I don't know that much about installing the lift as I did not do it myself and I am not that knowledgeable about mechanics, in fact I have always had my oil changed for me but I am learning a lot on this site and I am actually getting up under my truck and getting dirty. I drive a truck for a living and have done it for 18 years and have always had mechanics do all the work as my company has a policy of drivers, "no touch the trucks." I do have a digital camera and would be willing to take pictures of anything anybody needs if I can understand what it is they are needing a picture of.

Welp, had to call superlift YET again today, they forgot a part for the rear. Said it would be in saturday. Second time i had to call them so far. I didn't say one day, the guy doing it did. I think he put his foot in his mouth that time. Anywho, the front end is done with the 35"s on there, looks very nice, also does not look like I will have fender rubbing issuses, and very minimal fender rubbing issues.

no trimming????????????????
with 35s (i think you were going to run 12.50's)???????????????????
granted, i have a total of 7 inches of lift compared to your 8 (plus TB crank???? couldn't remember if you did or not) but my 33X12.50's on 3 3/4 Back Spacing touch both the front and the back of the front-fenders when i turn. by your no trimming analysis, do you mean looking straight on from the side with the wheels straight? i don't mean to be critical but turn the wheel crank to crank to see your clearence then. plus add in a little suspension compression for when you'll be going into, or out of, dipped driveways/parking lots.
if 35's fit with little trimming then i have to give it up to SL, that's huge!!!
let us know what happens and post lots of pictures....your truck's going to be awesome!!

im going to go out on a limb here and say you will need to trim. the fender is really small stock. even with 8 inches of lift. once you turn your tire you will be like right beside the fender. turn into a drive way or something and i think you will smack it pretty good. especially with the offset in the wheels so you dont hit the frame when locked. i mean give it a try but im running abut 8 inches of lift total and fenders trimmed and when i turn with my 35s i have like an inch to the fender. lets see some pics man

I have the 6" SL, 2" BL, and got about 1.5"-2" out of the torsion bars so far with plenty of crank left in them. So that is more than 6" of lift. We cut the wheel and it doesnt look like its going to rub unless I slam a real hard bump in a hard turn.
Jeggers - I am missing one of the leaf pads.

OK, question for you did you get the rudder hose for the rear or the metal extension/bracket. i started withe metal and it didn't fit so they sent me the rubber hose
?????????
Jeffc wrotesomecrew check it all.
somecrew i would got through all of the parts in the kit if i were you. superlift could have forgotten any part for the kit so the only way to be sure you have everything is look at every part. heck they forgot one of my torsion bar drop brackets.....not exactly just some missing hardware. i know going through everything sounds like a pain but that'll be the easiest part of your entire install......trust me on that.

One last thing be sure to sit down with the kit and go through every part and its hardware, i did this twice to se what i was missing. Then you will get a better feel for what it is going to take.
Good luck man!!!!!!!!!

there is a bracket and a hard line or there is a hose with metal coil over it the hose fit my truck but the metal line witch they sent with the kit in place of the hose(out of stock at the time) did not fit. if you got the bracket and metal line then you may want to check it to see if it fits. if not call sl they should be on your speed dial by now and tell then that you want the hose that should of been sent in the first place.
