A model truck is on the BDS homepage. :D

Time to rethink my modifications again...once I get on price on this kit...it says no welding required, although exhaust modification is as well as some cutting....but it also lists installation time at 10-12 hours, although I believe that is assuming 2 people. But this certainly makes me think!!

Okay so I just got off the phone with a BDS distributor about an hour from me (closest one) and they quoted me $1915 for the 5 inch BDS kit and another $900 for installation (including the front end alignment)...I was hoping for better since I've seen the SL online for $1650ish. Oh well...looks like the BL is still the way to go...plus on the BDS website it says with the 5" lift that they recommend 31X10.50 tires...now most of you are doing that with a BL and a 1" or so TB crank. Anyway, there's the initial info on this kit. Hobie...you no-believer...I think you better give the man his money.

an inch smaller for $300 more....i think i'd stick with the superlift. it is very cool to see another company making a lift for our truck but i don't know how you can be the second one to realease a kit thats an inch smaller and then charge more money for it. again i got the 6" sl for $1585.00 and as far a the install goes i can't see it being alot easier than the sl...after all your basically replacing all the same parts. if your going with a 5" i remeber being quoted $1170 for the trail master from national tire & wheel. heck the $700 you'd save would almost pay for your tires and wheels. maybe once the kit starts actually hitting the shops and mail order stores the price will come down.

I JUST LEFT THE BDS SITE AND I WANT TO REPORT WHAT I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE KIT FROM THERE AD. NO SKID PLATE. NO BELLY PAN.ONLY 31" TIRE ON 15X8 WITH 5-6 " BS(ALMOST STOCK WHEEL) AND THE KIT COMES WITH NEW UPPER A ARMS, CAN U SAY TB CRANK. SO I THINK IF ANY ONE WAS HOPEING TO USE SL 2" KIT AND MAKE IT 7" THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. THE 6" SUPERLIFT KIT USES STOCK A ARMS AND KEEPS ALL OF THE geomeTry THE SAME.
I HOPE THAT BDS CAN FILL THE DEMAND THOUGH, I ORDERED MY SL KIT FROM SUMMIT ON 12/8 AND THE LAST BOX IS NOW ON ITS WAY FROM SL.

The A-arms are the same as the ones in the BDS ZR-2 kit. They are exactly the same (dimensionally) as the OE arms. They are just extremely heavy duty and provide extra clearance for large body shocks. All of the lift comes from the drop bracketry which relocates everything exactly 5" lower.

The tire size suggestion conservative for no rubbing without trimming. Superlift lists the same backspacing requirements as BDS.

The kit comes with a easy-to-remove differential skid plate.

It may be an inch shorter, but it seems better thought out as far as engineering goes. I am not sure about the extra $dough$ though.

why doesnt someone by the bds kit and put it on there truck then someone with the superlift kit tm kit and bds kit pak side by side and see which looks better. then take pic of all the suspension and see which look sbetter designed. solve the dilema??

i still cant belive that our trucks have a hard time running a bigger tire then 31 with 5 inches of lift. its just crazy  when i drove out of the shop with my tm body lift shackles and t bars cranked a rubbed 32s like a mofo. i just dont get it. that much lift and tires only like 3 inches bigger then stock i just dont know anymore :?:

thats it time for a full size
