ball joints are done :(
well guys i found out what all the problems were. it was the ball joints on my truck. when they went bad im not sure...but this stuff started happening right after my lift so i assume its partially that which caused them to fail. do you guys think these will be covered by warranty or no?
any one else get this problem after a lift?? kinda sucks but shat happends.

I think that is going to be a tough one to get fixed under warranty.
It will be just too easy to blame the lift, even if it didn't cause the failure. The relation is just to close.
You can give it a shot though if you want. A good dealer might know of the lousy stock ball joint issue and replace them for you.
They are not too bad to replace. Grinding/drilling the rivets is the worst part. The new "improved" ball joints will bolt in.

If you're still within warranty I would give the dealer a try. Tell them you have been hearing a popping sound in the front end for awhile now and you thought the lift would get rid of the problem but it didn't. Let them know the "noise" was there before the lift. I know balljoints are fixed under warranty. The dealer replaced the ones on my 01 Blazer under warranty and even put Moog parts in instead of GM parts. If you have a good dealer like I do they will help you out.
Working PT at the dealer won't hurt either.

I would suggest giving the dealer a try .. heck if it works then you just saved money. but if they dont replace them for free, then you might have wasted an hour or two ..I SAY TRY THE DEALER

Hate to ruin your day, but my friend who had a Blazer with basically the same lift you have went through ball joints about every 3-6 months. You might be in the same boat. On a good note, he bought his ball joints at Auto Zone and they have a warranty on them, so he would end up getting 2 or 3 for free.

I think once the balljoints are replaced, it's easy after that because the new ones bolt in.

Actually, if I remember right I read somewhere on here that pictures aren't allowed in signatures. I could be wrong though...2bunik wrote:a little off topic but don't a big ARSS sig picture take up alot of space on the server..
