Okay, so I have poured through the member photo galleries and found three people that have the SL 6" lift (that I could find)....KCustom, Jay-Bird and Jeffc. Here the wheel/tire combos they are using (or were at the time of the photo):
KC (right after install): 275/70/17s (like a 33X11 or so) on 4.5" BS
Jay-Bird: 31X10.50X15s on 3.5 BS
Jeffc: 31X12.50X15s on 3 5/8" BS
Everyone is running a lot smaller BS than stock. Is it just to get the wide look or is it required to get the tires to fit. What I'm wondering is if the BS is causing all the rubbing that has been discussed.
Superlift recommends 33X10.50X15s on 5.5-6" of BS with this kit. Perhaps these tires would fit after all with more BS than the above three are running? If I do the lift I will have to use the stock wheels at first to justify the whole process to the wife. Let me know what you think.
And Jay-Bird, did you have any rubbing with those tires...it would seem like they are small enough after the lift that you shouldn't but with that BS I'm just curious. How about you KC? I know that you have since moved on with your flares, BL and 35s, but did those 275s rub when you first got the lift on? I know you rubbed Jeff, but really wide stance (that I really like a lot I must admit). Anyone, thanks for letting me ramble.
SL 6" and tires

the small amount of back spacing is why i had rubbing issues. i wanted the wide look and that why i went with the wheels and tires i have. my wheels are also 10" wide and my tires are 12.50's so thats another reason why i was rubbing, not just the back spacing. the 3 5/8" bs would probably be ok if you were using an 8" wide wheel with 10.50's.....i think thats what jaybird has. i cranked up my torsion and now i'm not really having any rubbing problems anymore but i'll still put on my body lift as soon as winter is over and then i can drop the front back down so it's sitting level again.
