Today I finished installing my PA 2" body lift. The overall install went pretty well. I had some help and we managed to get it done in about 14hrs of actual work. That's by no means fast, but we weren't exactly pushing our selves to work when it was so early in the morning.
The only problems we ran into were some of the body mount bolts would not thread correctly. This was fixed with a BFH and some tender loving. Also the rear stock hole on the core support for the oil bracket wasn't large enough for the stock bolts. This was fixed with just a bit of drilling.
Also, I have a slight rattling/vibration noise coming from the engine area. And an even louder noise when I make a tight right turn. I'll have to investigate these tomorrow, although I have no idea what to look for...
Now for a few questions:
1. Is the stock air scoop no longer used? I didn't see any instructions to put it back on.
2. Is the tranny cooler lines bracket not used any more? I hope not... it wasn't fun to take out, and I wouldn't want to have to put it back in.
3. Are only two crush blocks used on a 2001 extended cab s10?

I am not sure what you are refering to? If it is the rubber piece that fits behind the bumper to funnel the air into the radiator, then yes you do need to install it , and it will require pulling that bumper AGAINEric H wrote: 1. If you are talking about the one on the right side of the oil pan, then I didn't re-attach it on Bennie's or mine.2. Is the tranny cooler lines bracket not used any more? I hope not... it wasn't fun to take out, and I wouldn't want to have to put it back in.
These are the metal rectangular pieces that fit between the bed and frame, above the rear axle. Yes only two are used. One on each side3. Are only two crush blocks used on a 2001 extended cab s10?

Re: Body Lift Questions
What! You didn't have to reinstall that POS? That took me an hour damn near, laying under my truck, body contorted in all kinds of funky positions, in the freezing cold.HenryJ wrote:If you are talking about the one on the right side of the oil pan, then I didn't re-attach it on Bennie's or mine.Eric H wrote: 2. Oh well -- I put mine back on, cause the instructions told me to, and I was told to put the air scoop back in mine too. Guess the PA 152 and 192 instructions are slightly different.

You did the right thing! Putting them back in the clamp is the way to do it. By having them loose you run the risk of vibration an damage?adrenalnjunky wrote:What! He has started a new business that is requiring a great deal of time, and also has some contributions requiring travel to the middle east. I'm sure when time permits He'll pop in to contributeadrenalnjunky wrote:not to go off topic, but where has bennie been? I don't Ive seen hardly a post since he put the BL on.

Re: Body Lift Questions
I didn't re-install mine...mainly because the instructions didn't mention re-installing it and I didn't feel like pulling the bumper again. I haven't had any issues with cooling...out in AZ or here.HenryJ wrote:I am not sure what you are refering to? I didn't put the lines back on that @#!$ing stupid @$$ clamp either. I tell people all the time about the "metric & standard on the same fastener" piece on my wonderfully engineered GM truck all the time.
