Members with Daystars installed.
I just finished installing Daystar shackles but, have a question for those who already have them on their crews. Did the shackles seem to wide compared to the the frame and leaf spring mounting locations? It seems like it had to much room and I had to really tighten the bolts to have shackles meet spring and frame. I double checked the part number and it's correct. I did a pretty thorough search and did not see this come up with anyone's install.

Don't tighten them too much...just enough to keep them from coming loose. If they're too tight, the springs won't flex as they should making for a stiffer ride.

Yeah...when I first put mine on, I thought they were too wide also and torqued them down good an tight. But then I talked to Hobie online about how tight I should make them and he said basically what I said above. What I learned here I have now passed on to you.
