what up guys? i hope some of yall can tell me what's wrong with my truck.
2002 cc has been running warm for a couple weeks now. i flushed the cooling system and still the gauge goes up 3/4 of the way (225-230). today i noticed water streaming from the bottom of the big black plastic box under the hood on the passenger side that houses the hvac stuff. would this be a bad heater core. i first thought it was condensation but it does it when the heater is on also. i am loosing water somewhere and this is the only leak i can find. any ideas other than trade it in on a new jeep?

Are you losing coolant? Is there a visible loss noticeable in the expansion tank? Is it coolant or water? The AC does operate in all but two positions. It acts as a dehumidifier for the defroster.
A leaky heater core usually deposits coolant to the passenger side floor. The AC evaporator is in the engine compartment, around the area you describe. It has a drain tube and should be discharging water. Large amounts during humid weather.
Pressure testing the cooling system is a good way to know for sure, but not everyone will have a pressure tester.
Check the leak closely and watch the cooling system levels.
