Today I noticed several little specs of green cv grease on the frame. It is coming from the drivers inside boot. The boot is not torn that I can see and it looks like the grease is coming out from under the clamp.
There is not a lot of grease slung out just a little. Should I take it to the dealer or just keep an eye on it? I am still under warranty.
Thanks,
Pete

CV boot damage. , CV boot issues?
It is fairly common. Your warranty should cover it with no problems. If that doesn't solve it , just use a large hose clamp.
Get it fixed soon though. There is a premeasured amount of grease in there and you don't want to take the chance of losing too much, or the introduction of contaminants.

Thanks Brule, I will give the dealer a call. I have a zerk that will not take grease on the passenger side lower ball joint. Might as well kill two birds with one stone.
Not sure how they will remedy the leaking boot. If they have to pull the shaft to replace the boot, will I end up with new ball joints on that side? For some reason I am thinking that the ball joints need to be split to get the shaft out. I could be wrong though....
Thanks,
Pete

They may not replace the boot. If there is no damage they may just install a new clamp.
If they do replace the boot, then yes separation of the ball joints from the lower a-arm is required.
It sounds like you may be in for replacing the balljoints too though. I hope the newly designed ball joints are in better supply now. I had to wait for them to be delivered before my warranty work was done. Be patient it may take a while, and more than one visit.

Wow... Cool...
I didn't know that they redesigned the crappy ball joints.
Maybe I will get lucky and all my ball joints will need replaced.
