Front wheel bearing diagnosis added to the Stock info page.
It was brought to my attention that I did not elaborate on how that I found my bad wheel bearing.
I refered to the above linked information for diagnosis.
I first noticed that while cornering the brakes would rub a little, that was a dead give away to the slack in the wheel bearing.
Of course any roughness during rotation is not acceptable also.
Removing the ABS wheel sensor and inspecting may also be a good way to check things too.
Seems like Paul had a wheel bearing that He replaced? Maybe He'll link the photos/information to this thread?

I was feeling a bit of a vibration and howling noise that seemed to come from up front. It seemed to be dependent of vehicle speed and not engine RPM's.
The noise would increase in volume while cornering through a sweeping turn (especially to the left) and when I was braking/decellerating. It was not real loud but enough to start noticing it. Almost like an aggressive tire tread sounds against the road when slowing down.
I rotated the tires to rule out a possible tire tread separation problem. While up in the air I checked the wheels/hubs for visible lateral play and/or any roughness while spinning. Everything looked fine and the noise persisted after the tire rotation.
So off to the dealer today. The right front wheel bearing was bad and they did the left front as a precautionary measure. I must say the dealer has always taken care of me and been very fair on repairs.
Only 29,00 miles and the bearing was going bad. Thank god it is still under warranty. I like the crew cab but I sure have been to the dealer a lot since I purchased it. Lots of minor/moderate repairs.......
But it is paid for!

Aww, you'll hear it grinding when it goes bad, then just drive home and replace it. Or, another good sign is your ABS light will be on before the grinding noise starts, that means the shavings just chewed up the ABS sensor in the hub. $200 from Napa
