Brakes not releasing
I have a 2003 crew cab s-10 4x4. I seem to think my brakes aren't releasing quick enough, slider pins are greased(with brake temp grease) as well as the pad ends. Has anyone else had this problem, my suspicions come from old man winter, and the ice rink he's made out of my street . and the fact I need 4x4 to move at all. I had the truck in my garage on stands, the front wheels had tention on them(4x4 running gear) but the rear wheels were tough as well. I do have factory limited slip? Can anyone think of anything ?

Re: Brakes not releasing
Check the RPO codes for G80. That is the Eaton GovLoc.mcnarski wrote: I do have factory limited slip? Can anyone think of anything ?
Maybe you have sticky calipers? Have you changed the fluid?

Brakes won't release
Thanks, I didn't consider the brake fluid itself. You mention the Eaton rear carrier, are they known to fail ?

Brake fluid is hygroscopic. If it has not been changed, that may mean the condition of the internals has deteriorated to the point where seizing could be a possibility. Flushing may help, but it may be too late.
Cared for properly the G80 has been good. I like them.
Clean oil and no modifiers.
