Best cap & rotor brand???

Post by Rockrz »

I think it was on another board, but someone was saying that some of the contacts on the caps & rotors are poor quality and can burn out quicker than they should.

This being on replacement caps & rotors. They were saying that even the AC Delco parts are cheap chinese crap these days when it comes to caps & rotors.

I know I had my truck quit running about 6 months or a year anfer changing out the cap & rotor...and when I put in a new rotor, it ran perfectly so something was wrong with my rotor.

Anyway, they were saying to look for caps & rotors (maybe just the cap) that has a machined surface as opposed to be being stamped by a metal cuter...and you should look for brass material.

Anybody have any suggestions for the best quality brand cap and rotor for our trucks?

Sorry, maybe it was here that I read about this.

I'm on my way to review and repack my mind with this knowledge...and maybe take some notes so I don't forget.

I was just thinking about my cap and rotor cause I've not changed them in about 2 or 3 years, which is about 40 to 50,000 miles for me.

Don't forget the plastic Distributor warning.

It looks like there is a cast aluminum replacement out there now, so things are improving.
