Hi- got a 2000 s-10 4x4 ex cab.almost 140,000 miles on it.tranny is losing fluid somewhere.checked tranny pan,all dry.anybody have any ideas where its leaking? Need to fix soon,road trip on friday.

Check your transfercase to see if it is over full. The output shaft seal for the transmission is the transfercase input seal. It may be bad if transmission fluid is migrating to the transfercase.

in regards to the transfer case being to full.truck is on the lift right now.2 drainplugs on it.which one and what size is the allen for it?

I am not sure the size, maybe 3/8"? I know exactly which one and where it is in my box, but I am not 100% positive on the size.
It is the fill level plug up a few inches on the back side. The lowest one is the drain.
The fluid level should be just at the bottom of the fill hole or slightly below. If it comes pouring out, you have found the missing transmission fluid.

ok,cant seem to find a allen to fit the transfer case plugs.but found a leak on the ps of radiator,the tranny cooler line fitting.replaced radiator recently.maybe o-ring inside of fitting is bad?

Hey,slow reply back to my problem,it was leaking tranny fluid on the cooler lines.Replace fittings,so far no leaks.
Still need to check transfer case fluid.looks like 3/8,need to buy one.
now i have to replace the hubs on my truck this weekend
so atleast one more post from me this week,lol.
