transmission leak, drivers side

Post by mattfu »

not another problem, i have a tranny leak, i am putting the truck up on ramps in a day or 2 to have a look as to what is going on, i see fluid on the wiring to a temp sensor in the drivers side test port, so im asuming the leak is from the test port or more likely somewhere above it, i know nothing about this transmission, what should i expect for seals or other places this can be leaking from, anyone else have a similar leak? was it a big job? thx

Since it will be a couple days before you go after the problem, why not pick up a gallon of "Crown" power spray (Walmart), Mean Green, Purple power........etc? Get the area clean by spending a couple of days to determine exactly where it is coming from. It makes everything easier on me and makes working on my rig a lot more pleasant when crap is exposed and not having falling debris somehow making it past my safety glasses.
