manual 4wd switch

Post by jayall23 »

I have seen the manual pull switches for 4wd in JC Whitney and have considered getting one. If I install one does that disable the 4wd buttons, or are they still useable? I have had trouble with the buttons in the past, and I would just like a little reassurance that if I need 4wd I will have it. Any pros/cons with the manual switch?

Yup, you're still going to need the switches to shift the transfercase. The cable will engage the front differential though.

It be a good thing. Cause there are times when crawling on trails where you get too much traction on turns and you could cut the front axle in tight bends with no bind.

When ever I can find the time, I want to mod my current setup to setup some sort of switching to use the stock stuff to accomplish the same thing. I've never had a prob with my stock setup, so I can just set up something to switch what is up there now. The goal is to get the Low range gearing with only RWD.
