I put a 98 GMC Envoy console into my 03 ZR2. Here is the info you need.DIC (driver info center) plug
Pin… #7… dark green… to pin #B2 [blue plug of radio] 2nd from left
Pin..; #8… black/white… to pin A12 [gray plug ] or ground
Pin… #9… dark green/white…. To rear instrument panel speedo plug A4 [ dark green wire]
Pin… #10… light green/black… to outside air temperature sensor (by grill)
Pin… #11… grey …to pin # B4 [blue plug of radio 4th from left]
Pin… #12… purple/white to… pin #B12 [blue plug of radio ] wire on end of plug on right side Pin… # 13… MT
Pin… #14… orange… to pin # B1 [ blue plug of radio] wire on end of plug on left side
Pin …#15… yellow … to purple wire at data link connector pin #2 [plug under drivers knee panel] OBD plug
DIC plug #2 dome harness
A … to… white wire on mirror lights [A and B from this plug are connected]
B … orange… to white wire on mirror lights [A and B from this plug are connected]
C… orange… to Pin# B1 [blue plug of radio] This has a wire attached already from pin 14
D… black to ground
E … purple and white [LED dimming signal] to Pin #B 12 [blue plug ]
AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Re: Plain and simple overhead console wiring
Keep in mind that the for the utilities (Blazer and Crew cab) the harness is plug-n-play at the C209 connector. Everything you need is there.
It is the trucks that have a different forward harness.

So if i want to put an Envoy or Bravada OHC in my crew its basically plug and play? Whats with the wires that go to the radio? If you have an aftermarket radio will that cause any issues?

Yes. Check out the trip computer OHC thread. Plug in the C209 connector and you have all you need.ApproachMedium wrote:So if i want to put an Envoy or Bravada OHC in my crew its basically plug and play?
Ignore that. That is for the trucks. All the utilities (Blazer and crew cab) , with the exception of the early conversions, have the correct wiring harness and do not need to connect to the radio.Whats with the wires that go to the radio? If you have an aftermarket radio will that cause any issues?

Re: overhead console wiring for non-crew truck installations
Thanks for the info... Wow thats alot of stuff in that thread. If im reading this correctly along with the console, I will need the wire hareness as well to go from the console down to the side of the dash and then its plug and play?

Yes. That harness will also have the lighted visors for both sides, auto dimming rearview mirror and the inside temperature sensor for the auto climate control.ApproachMedium wrote:If im reading this correctly along with the console, I will need the wire hareness as well to go from the console down to the side of the dash and then its plug and play?

Re: overhead console wiring for non-crew truck installations
OK Cool. I like the idea of the auto dimming mirror. Those damn visors can go screw, I had that stupid broken cover for the mirror fall on my face one too many times trying to keep the button down for the lights. I finally unplugged the driver side one a few weeks ago, it hit me for the last time haha.
Speaking of the inside temp sensor, was anything ever found out with the CC for swapping the HVAC controls out with the ones for the climate controlled system?

Re: overhead console wiring for non-crew truck installations
None that I know about. It would require a BCM swap and quite a few other items along with the control. I'm not sure it is worth the effort. I have the auto climate controls in the Avalanche. I kinda like the manual control better.ApproachMedium wrote:... was anything ever found out with the CC for swapping the HVAC controls out with the ones for the climate controlled system?
