Ignition power tap point
I just bought a Garmin 2620 and I want to hardwire the power. Where's a good place to tap off so it will shut off with the ignition? Right now it's rigged to my fuse box but it looks terrible.

I don't know about your model GPS but, I leave my Garmin III plus on 24/7 with light at it's highest level and never had a starting problem. Yours may draw alot more.

Not a bad idea but I'm not leaving it in plain site. :>). It's in the glove box or my backpack when not in use. I have it mounted to the steering column. It blocks part of the speedometer but I'm OK with that.
I have yet to run the permanent electric. It was way too hot last weekend plus I had to paint the calipers on my car.
