anyone that has stayed in the desert knows what i am talking about I have no idea of what you are refering to ;) Exactly! And I only brought that up since the topic of "driving skills" came up. Let's not drag this out to the "wood" story (i.e. Hobie and his wood at camp)  Damn I...

I banged around that bar all over the place from local cali trails to Arizona and Moab  Considering how much it hits stuff, it held up pretty well. In the end, I hit a rut too hard, the suspension bottomed out and the right mounting bracket drug on the ledge of the rut. That bent it back ... I ...

Just something to keep in mind about stock bumpers is that a lot of thought, design, and testing goes into them. They are often designed to crumple and crush upon impact absorbing the forces as opposed to staying solid and transfering ALL the forces into the rest of the truck and it's occupants. Thi...

That rear bumper on there is sweet! It even wraps around the fender to protect that. Pretty nice! 8) I saw that bumper perform up close and personal in Moab last year. That's Steve Smith's truck from zr2.com ... the rear bumper is VERY nicely built and it seems to be very tough. The shape is also s...

On my ZR2 with the 3.73 gears, I am usually around 3000 RPM going up hill ... but man does the blazer want to fly at that RPM!!!! I usually take it out of OD to save the tranny when going up hill ... otherwise it's trying to stay around 2000RPM so keeps shifting in and out. But when I put it on 3, a...

But HenryJ is right about the electrical not being as good as the mechanical ... I was having troubles at times in the summer (105+ degree heat) driving long up hill stretches.. the temps would go up quick. This was partly due to me having an open-element air filter which was sucking hot air from al...

I have the #60 on my older blazer (92). I don't know about the 2MPG thing but there is a slight noticable increase in engine power, especially at higher RPMs ... that's because the heavy mechanical fan is not there anymore to put drag on the engine. However, that fan needs a LOT of juice so if you h...

4Wheel Parts has the powermaster ones now ... for about $400 HERE . I think I paid about $300 for mine, ordering directly from powermaster about 4 years ago. I've cleaned mine many times. They have a cleaning spray (it has very good directions on it) ... if your filter is not too clogged, you spray it generously with this spray and let it sit for a few minutes. Then rinse it from the inside to outside with low pressure water. All the junk will come out. ...

you can engage 4HI while moving up to like 45mph...or something. for 4LO, stop, put in neutral, then click 4LO and wait for it to engage. then put in drive and go... Minor clarification being that you have to be in 4HI before trying to go into 4LO. To get out of 4LO, again you should be stopped (or...

Oh just to clarify ... What I was trying to explain is if you are in a jam and need 4x4 to get out and this actuator thing decides not to work ... The vacuum actuator is located under the battery tray. It is not uncommon for these things to stick. They basically pull a wire when vacuum is applied. I would also guess that's most likely why the fronts were not engaging. FYI, on the S10s, the hubs are always engaged with the half-shalfts. The eng...

I can personally vouch for this T6 6061 BILLET ALUMINUM stuff ... very very tough and extremely light. That front camera definitely adds to the "coolness" factor. It's also fun to watch sometimes. But to be totally honest, I've never had to rely on it ... also it's hard to judge distances and objects so from a practical standpoint, it is fairly useless. The rear one I have used several times though. ...
