Yes part of a class III hitch. It has a 2" ball in it now but I would be taking it out for the anchor shackle. Sizing of that is another question. If the problem persists, you could always try switching out the cooler to a different style. The one I have from B&M prevents overcooling and it is around $50.

That is what I was talking about! Poly can go tighter than rubber, just not overtight as stated above. You can tell, it won't tighten till it stops like a bolt but they will squish down a bit and it will be more difficult to turn. About 40ft lbs should do it.

It depends on which tires I have on, my pcm was reprogrammed and is accurate on one set not the other, this is the accurate set sadly. I still go by the scangauge and verify with mileage reading.

Ok so change from last tank to this tank: 1.2 mpg increase. Could be contributed to many things but same driving style, same routes, pretty much same weather too. Not a huge difference but I'm almost up to 13mpg! I don't know why my fuel economy sucks so bad. Only thing I can think of is the tires??...

I cranked them down pretty firm. Poly is a better material to crank on then rubber without worrying about it "exploding" out. Thats the best way I can think to describe it.

Well that idea doesn't sound too bad, you can give it a shot. How much longer are the shackles the kit comes with? for every 2" longer you get 1" lift. Shocks are a must so thats a good idea. Give the rims a shot and see if it clears.

I agree with BikerBoomer. Little to no gains seen, I don't know either what our MAF is rated for but if it is similar to the one used on v8s I wouldn't worry at all. You won't exceed it with the amount of air you can pull with a nearly stock 4.3

I personally am able to fit 30" tires with no rub and only a t-bar crank and shackles. I could almost clear 31s with no rub its close. If you want to easily fit 31s, get the shackles, t-bar crank and body lift. It will sit 4" higher or so front and 5" or so higher rear. That is a good amount of lift...

First initial feeling, it does not warm up as quickly, seems to start easier/quicker I don't know how it might be related but backpressure perhaps?? Runs maybe slightly better at WOT, idle is same. Mpg will tell in due time.

To my knowledge and the way I see it, replacing the keys would allow for more tension to be put on the torsion bars and thats how the lift is achieved. You are still adjusting the torsion bars and changing the ride characteristics. The keys just allow you to adjust the bars past the stock specificat...

I guess I don't follow, are we talking backspacing or rim size? The 31" tire is going to be 31" regardless of rim size. The backspacing just simply is the inches that the tire is going to be in or outward from the hub.

You can simply get different backspacing on the rims. The front and rear however are not lined up on our trucks so the fronts will stick out a little further. That is why I personally chose to get spacers to equal the stance not offset it. You could easily get rims that will do the same job however....

If I do cut it off, I'll be cutting it as close to the precat itself to retain as much pipe as possible. In doing so, if the situation arose where it had to be reattached, could a good exhaust shop weld it back on? Assuming it is not too damaged.

Is it possible to gut the precat and leave it installed or is the material of composition that it would not easily come out? It does look like a tough spot to clamp on a straight pipe until summer where I can get under there and do it right with a torch.

So this may cause premature failure of the regulator due to overheating? Or PCM problems as well? There aren't any local alternator shops to take advantage of. The new trend is taking the whole alternator out and replacing it. I have a lifetime warranty but I might get sick of replacing it eventually.

Yes it most likely is a cheap regulator. I don't know the model as I did not replace it, it was under warranty. Perhaps I should order and replace my own, where might a quality regulator be had? Will it be an issue if the battery light intermittently flickers or just an annoyance?

180* stat. New, just in this past spring. A little too cold is instead of about 180*ish it runs more like 173*ish. But it gets back up to temp when I stop.

In theory, it shouldn't matter all that much. If you plug them in and sound comes out its right. They can even be reversed and it usually won't make a difference.

Well I did some winter preparation, I picked up some extra wheels at the yard for a good price, just like stock ones, and mounted my "winter" tires on them. Looks like I have a good setup now for the next few years without buying anymore tires!

When idling in gear it stays about 600rmp but the truck will drop to about 500 rpm and the lights dim slightly, oil pressure drops. I may be interested at some point, I have rigged it together for now. I redrilled a hole in the bracket and used some small metal springs and locknuts on the bolts to allow some slight movement and flexibility for the bracket. This may help or it may be too flexible. Only time will tell on this one....

I agree something does have to give. I am going to try to find a way to incorporate either some flex pipe or a springy mounting device of some sort where the stock bracket is. It has been operating like this for years and I don't have a body lift so I figured it would have been all set, I was wrong.

I have a gray tach wire coming from my MSD box. Is this needed to hook up to anything? I have the GM 8877 harness and seems really easy to hook up other than knowing where to put the tach. And I guess the magnetic pickup purple and green wires are not used?

Hey $4 is not bad at all. I think they look ok, match your truck atleast. They would not look that good on mine I can safely say. But I do like them. I am surprised that you got them at Wal-Mart?? I didn't think they sold taillights at walmart but thats awesome.

I finally got an answer, the difference between the two 4th gears is: "MAINLY JUST NAME BRANDS THEY BOTH DO THE SAME THING."

Just to chime in, at first this sounded complicated to me. There are lots of relays available, NAPA was out of the cheapies and I paid about $12. Oh well, little wire and crimps and good to go. It was much easier than expected. Just mess around and it isn't hard. Did you want to just have quads? DRL...
