Re: Heater Squeal
The change is quite easy in the 2002. I did mine last summer as mine was having the exact same issue. The change took about 15 minutes. I went to an auto wrecker and got a used one out of another S-10. Cost was $25.

How to? tighten tilt steering
Hi, when I am out driving on the backroads, there is a rattle coming from where the tilt steering is located. It has a bit of play in it. Any idea how to tighten this? there are a couple of videos on youtube, but they are from older s10's. OR, is this a job best left to my mechanic? I am fairly hand...

Re: abs module
Thanks, the AC Delco site was perfect....now to find a decent price in Canada for the part. I went to the dealer and they want $1300....a bit steep. I might go used if I cannot source a cheaper one online. Thanks again!

Re: Steering column diagram
This is perfect. Can you see any where there could be play? I checked the rag joint and it is fine. It seems to be where the steering wheel is attached to the shaft, but based on this diagram, I cannot see how there could be any play.

Steering column diagram
Hi, do any of you have an exploded view/diagram of the upper steerwheel assembly. Specifically, from the steering wheel to the firewall. I have some play at the very top end (didn't notice until I replace all of the bushings, idler arm etc...). I want to see what I can do to elimnate the play in the...

Re: General Grabber AT2 vs Yokohama Geolander AT/S
I have them installed on my rig. Best tires I have ever owned. I have over 35K on them and they still look new. Very grippy and tough as nails. Perfect balance between off and and on road. I highly recommend them. Plus they look pretty good.nebby58 wrote:Anyone tried Hankook Dynapros?

Wheel Bearing - My recent experience
My truck, for over the past year had made quite alot of noise from the front. I assumed it was the brakes, and waited for the pads to get down to 20% before changing rotors and pads. This past weekend I changed the pads and rotors (the rotors were heavily pitted). Some of the noise went away but now...

Sloppy front end/steering
I have a 2002 crew that has 172,000 kms. I has a bit of play in the steering wheel (about 1/2 inch). when you turn the steering wheel, you can feel a short dead spot before it begins to turn the wheels. What should I be looking at to replace? Also, I would like to replace all of the front end bushin...

4 x 4 Switch reset - remove the courtesy lamp fuse
I had some issues with my 4 X 4 switch (flashing, not working, would not shift from 4H to 2H etc...). Searched the forum and found that you can remove the courtesy lamp fuse for 1hr and it resets the codes. All is fine now, working perfectly for a couple months. This is easily the best forum for fin...

I have checked all the mechanicals - everything is good and tight. No issues with brakes. The click or click squeak is only present when moving down the highway and the truck rpm's are just under 2000rpm. If you travel at a steady speed of 100km/hr, the noise is present about every 40 seconds. I was...

loud click
Hi, I am not sure if this is the same as the previous post or not. When the truck is at 2K or above in RPM, travelling down the road, I hear a loud click coming from the front driver's side. It clicks every 30 seconds or so. It sounds much like the A/C clutch engaging but it is not the noise. The tr...

A few weeks ago I spent $3K replacing the following: - Rear Calipers, Pads, Rotors, Shield - Rear end rebuild - all bearings, carrier, ring gear etc... - Universal Joints Some advice: 1. Check the oil in the rear-end. If it looks like a chocolate brown change it immediately. Check the oil every oil ...

With my 2002, I had the same issues. I started with replacing the ignition components first (plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor). While it made truck run a bit better, it still stalled. I then moved to the fuel system, starting with filter. Finally, I repalced the fuel pump - that did it. Truck has...

UPDATE
We have had hot weather for the past week and I went on a long trip in 35 celsius weather. 4 hours in, the truck started stalling again. What I noticed is when it stalled the fuel pump was off. When you pulled over, cycled the switch a few times, the fuel pump would start up and truck would start. I...

Stalling in hot weather
Hi, I have a 2002 CC and on the weekend I made a 1/2 run on the highway in 32 degrees (celsius) heat. After that run, the truck started stalling after idling at a light for a few minutes. It would always stall just as I was taking off from the light. It would stall and then I would put into neutral ...
