The MAF must be good & pretty clean, my truck needs one.

Re: To anybody that adapted and mounted an OEM fan. LS x, et
Thought I'd let you know about my fan changeover last week from a Flex-a-lite 210, to an Intrepid fan. After I removed the 210's, I could see the 2 fans side by side and compare. The Intrepid fan was about 3-5 lbs.heavier because the shrowed is thicker and more ridged and the motors are larger and "...

http://forums.s-10crewcab.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7993 One of my LONG install threads. Pics on page 2. I didn't use a gasket or anything, just slide it in there. Tight fit. Bent some fins on the outside doing so. One of my motors went bad, out of balance. The fan was mounted slightly loosely, that ...

Re: To anybody that adapted and mounted an OEM fan. LS x, et
My bottom mount is much like yours, using the tabs, etc. and the top mount is the same. But I'm wondering about where the plastic shrowed will contact the edges of the core? The Flex. 210 has a rubber gasket (like a door or trunk lid) around the edge of the shrowed to seal & protect the fins at the ...

To anybody that adapted and mounted an OEM fan. LS x, etc.
I'm about to change my Flex. 210 to a set of Intrepid fans, not because the Flex fans didn't work, they did good for the past 3 1/2 years. But because the intrepid fans are supposed to move more air, be quieter, and be smoother (balanced better) and to be honest, I like to mess with my truck. My que...

I'd say, on a scale of 1-10, it's a 1 or a 2 as long as you don't drop anything in there you can't pick back out. Then it becomes a lot of work. Hey Cajun-did you lok-tite the screws back in?nebby58 wrote:Hey Cajun, on a scale of 1 to 10, how hard was it?

I just finished the cut down version described above and WOW  what a difference! The truck jumbs right out of the hole on acceleration from a dead stop now. Did the throttle blade today-results
Sorry it took so long to get back-unexpected crap-you know how it goes! Anyway, cutting off the throttle blade only in part was the right thing to do. I cut the air diffuser about 2/3 of the way, leaving a 4-5mm. lip then shaping & smoothing the lip. In a parking lot or slow maneuvering it’s like it...

Re: Did the throttle plate mod. today
Glad to hear it is a success. The "little touchy" I experienced was only in low range. I was able to adapt to that. It is a better throttle response. Less dulled. The big difference is not as noticeable on the install. You can really feel it once you become acustomed to the modded blade and swap ba...

Did the throttle plate mod. today
I got around to doing the throttle mod. Today, here’s how it went. I figured it made sense to cut it off only partway, the main complaint people had was a “jumpy”over sensitive throttle at slow speeds, a small bit of a diffuser would make it much easer and safer to maneuver around parking lots & suc...

I finally got around to putting on your spare AD 244 130a, it went on like it's supposed to (no problems) and works fine, not like the aftermarket I had on it that would flicker the dash light even though I put a new reg in it! I am taking off my throttle body to change the throttle blade & clean it. But I can't get the cruise cable off, the GM-SI manual says not to remove the "C" clip or unscrew the adjuster, just use a flat blade screwdriver to pry it off, but if I pry too hard, I'm afraid it'll break. Sounds like you have a good plan of attack. Examine the regulator closely before installation. A good regulator will have lots of cooling fins. Re: Alternator wireing advice
You don't need an adapter to install the AD244 alternators. They are plug-n-play. All you need is the longer belt. Search for the bigger Alternator thread and it has all the details. The above adapters linked are for the CS144. I would not recommend using one of those. The AD244 is a much better op...
