My Winter Wheels
After pricing ZR5 wheels on line out of curiousity, Ive decided to keep them in the garage this winter and throw on a set of stock 4wd aluminum wheels. Not wanting to be like every other 4wd s series out there I masked and painted them a gloss black to match the rest of the truck. A 99 cent can of s...

ZR2 Lift question
Where does the front lift on the zr2's come from? I know the rear is from rear drop mouns for the leafs, but I cannot for the life of me figure out where the front lift comes from.

You probably just forced fluid out of the resevoir when you collapsed the caliper pistons. Happens all the time if you add brake fluid between rotor or pad changes. Bleeder screws are on the backside of the caliper near the top. If your pedal is tight, then I doubt you have any air in the system......

You crack the bleeders so as to not flush any accumulated junk in the caliper bores back into the ABS system. I had an excursion come into work that had a soft petal that felt and reacted EXACTALLY like a bad mastercylinder. I talked to the customer and he said he recently had brake service performe...

Its a total ricer mod. On something else, it may be necessary, but i put it on for appearance I disagree. The 7.5" hosing is notoriously flexy. Adding the proper load to those support studs, and just the support of that stiffer cover may prolong the life of the carrier bearing due to the retention ...

My new diff cover/girdle installed
I recently acquired a diff girdle from a buddy of mine (hes on here, but I dont know his SN, so thanks Paul) Was it necessary? Im not sure what it is, where it is from, or what its supposed to be for. It was on a guy I work with's ZQ8 Sonoma, and I badgered him to sell it to me long enough he finally did. Took some fairly major modification to make it fit as it was designed for a 2wd s10, but its in, and bolted in all snug. Strong enough I can jack on it and pick up the front of the truck. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/11/web/731000-731999/731566_74_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.ne...

Steering Wheel Radio Controls?
So, as I have picked up on here, we have the same wiring harness as the Blazers do. I was in an 02 Xtreme the other day and it had the radio control buttons/paddles on the wheel. This got me curious and lead me to the wiring diagrams on Mitchell. It appears that the blazers have 3 or 4 extra clock s...

amp draw of the fuel pump is a big one. Ive seen bad pumps come through my shop that would make and hold pressure, but had incredibly high draw. To test, an inductive pickup dvom, or dmm and a jumper wire with a blade type fuse are needed. Remove stock fuse, and insert jumper wire. (The one I have a...

Was it worth the time and effort? I cleaned my maf today and decided to pop the screen out just to see what happens. I did the TB plate mod at the same time, and I dont really know what im feeling most? I know the smooth idle is because of the clean MAF, and from others experience I know that the TB...
