I was at my local WalMart and they had a tire there that caught my eye. It was a Goodyear Wrangler Authority A/T. I finally got it out. I was going to remove the cross member until I realized that I would need to remove my passenger side step bar (ZR5) to get at the head of the bolt. I ended up taking the nuts off of the transmission mount and gently raising the transmission until I was able to get the pan out....

Stupid question, do you have to remove the transmission cross member to remove the pan and filter? I have every bolt out of the pan and cannot find a way to get it out past the cross member.

Does this brace help support the tailgate? That would help at the end of the tailgate, but would you still have the extra weight on the hinges. Maybe I could extend the bottom of the tailgate and let it rest in the bed for more hinge support. Or I could just give in and get a full size truck!

They were wrong. I think they were just feeding you a line of BS. It is likely that it was not changed at the first oil change as is required to remove assembly lubricants, but wrong fluid is not likely. Doesn't shock me that they handed me a line of BS.
