If you still have the differential open, count the teeth on the pinion. There should be 41 on the ring gear and 10, 11, or 12 on the pinion.
12 teeth is 3.42 - 41/12=3.416666

I would take the plastic shroud off and check the area between the radiator and the AC coils, suck the bugs out with a vacuum cleaner, wash or blow it out. It might not help but it sure can't hurt.

Mine was a fuel pump also. Check the fuel pressure, turn the key on and let the fuel pump cycle. If it drops back to zero after the fuel pump cycles, then there is your problem. It could be the regulator but most likely the fuel pump.

If you don't have an external transmission cooler, You need one. I am convinced that has a lot to do with the life of a transmission. Be sure to flush the cooler lines when you replace the transmission.

The blazer has 4 hinged post. That is the reason for the 4 notches you see in the rear floormat. The blazer does have a raised area beneath the seat but it starts about 6 inches farther back than it does on the crewcab.

Don't forget about the hood hinge popping. To rule it out you can put a piece of stiff foam under the hood right in front of the hinge and shut the hood, drive around and see if the noise is still there.

With the Crew having an aluminum driveshaft, there is a chance that the aluminum yoke will not hold the new u-joint cap for very long. I had a new steel driveshaft made for my wife's 2001 and solved the problem on her truck.
