Should the fuel line connections to the pump be lubricated with motor oil like is required on the fuel filter?

They think it's the wear pattern on the ring gear. The warrenty co sent a rep out to look at it, he said nothing has failed, won't pay for a new ring and pinion. I'm stuck with a bit of a whine (no more than my S-10 had) but I got the front diff taken care of and new pinion bearings out of the deal....

update, they found the pinion bearings to be a bit loose in the rear, replaced, not it, found the side carier bearing visibly bad in the front diff, replaced that. They thought they had it, not. Now they are back looking into the rear diff as still having something bad.
