I talked to a body shop, that is near me. They gave me a quote of $450.00. I have to supply the bed and the rear frame half and I do the prep work. Remove the bed, gas tank, and driveshaft. If I do this, it might be next spring. I have to find a bed and frame. Question, does the frame have to be an ...

The radio controls are in and working. I have the volume and mute programmed. I haven't decided on what to program the other three buttons to do. So they are dead, right now. On the airbag side of things, I had to change the connectors, where it plugs into the main harness. My truck is an 02 and the...

O.K. I started to install the radio controls, for good or so I thought. I can't figure out, how to remove the airbag. I went and bought a repair manual (Haynes) and it is telling me that there are four spring clips that need to be push to the side, so the airbag will pop off. I don't see them...

There is a new guy at work, that used to work for a company that made custom quad axle dump trucks (WOW!). He said, to cut the frame, 12" in front of the rear cab mount, at a 45 degree angle. Straightest part of the frame, on most pick-ups. Do the same with the donor frame, in the same area. Grind a...

I got the volume control buttons to work. Just a little cleaning and it started to work. I tested it with my meter. Here is a FYI - The Black and Gray wires are for the back lighting and the Green and Yellow wires are the signal wires. I just hooked my meter to the Yellow and Green wire, set the met...

I just installed my HD module to my Kenwood DDX-7019. I lot like it a lot. I think, I counted 40 radio stations, total. I like the fact that I can press a catagory button and it list the stations in groups. I press the rock button and all of the staitions that play rock will be displayed. The same t...

I messed around with the steering wheel controls, today. I wanted to make sure that they worked, before I made them permenent. It's a good thing I did. Because after I hooked the factory radio, back up and connected the controls under the dash. I started pushing buttons and the left side worked grea...

Next on my radio upgrade todo list!
My CC truck is a 2002. I have installed a Kenwood DDX 7019 touch face radio with all of the remote modules that go with it. I found a 2004 blazer in the salvage yard. It has factory radio controls, in the steering wheel. I took the steering column and all of the wiring that I could. I was wondering ...

My truck is a 2002. It must be a late 2002, because I have the double din opening. I have the Kenwood DDX-7019 touch-face unit in my dash. It does fit with just the need of the adaptor brackets and no other mods to the dash. But, because of all of the wires that go to these touch face units, it will...

I got the last piece to my console swap. The wiring! The only thing is, that one side had to be cut off. Now I need to rewire that end and I don't know where the wires go. I just hope all of the shifters are the same, since the wiring is not the same year as my truck. This is the wires that I have -...

I am still looking. I need to get the ignition key housing off the steering column. Can this be done without removing the steering wheel? I have ruled out the red wire going to the ignition key. I think it's going to be a pink wire and it is up in that housing. I had the fuse pop on me, again and it...

For those interested, I went to the dealer and got some info, on the shifter cable. The console is DO7 opition code. The transmission with electronic transfer-case is opition code NP4/NP8. The shifter cable is part # 15189203. I order my shifter cable from this web site for $68.15. http://www.tradem...

Popping 40 amp maxifuse! Not good! *solved*
The 40 amp fuse keeps popping and it's at ramdom! I thought it was the aftermarket alarm, so I had it pulled. Still popping the fuse. The second time, it popped, I saw a little puff of smoke, come out from under the dash. Any ideas what it can be and what is on this circuit? Any help in this matter ...

Wind noise problem?
I have a 02 S-10 and when the windows are up, at highway speeds, I get wind noise. I thought it was the gaskets around the doors, so I replaced all of them. Then I was at a car wash and had the A/C running that day. I noticed soapy air bubbles forming at the corner of the windows. So now I know wher...

Question about body mounts
Is it easier to get at the middle spark plug, on the drivers side, with a body lift? I noticed how difficult that plug is, due to it being behind the steering shaft. Also, how much lift can I get, for the body. All I see is 2" kits. My old S-10, I was able to get 3" and it was cheaper. BTW, I am new...
