The gauges in the 98+ run through the BCM and the 95-97 don't use that...:( As to the center shifter, I originally had a column shifter like everyone el...

Talk to "Blades" or whatever his name is now back over on SSF. I think he has or had a ZR2 Blazer and went through all the fun wiring up a tow haul button in the console. Yeah, he tried, but after all the mucking around, the PCM just wouldn't accept it even though he used a factory harness. Since I...

I'm dangerous when I'm bored...Another center shift mod
So today I was given a 2000 Envoy Center console and shifter to play with (and keep of course)...Install was easy as I had the necessary mounts in place from my Column shift to center shift mod. This console is similar to the Jimmy Diamond Edition center console. The center console is pewter/gray wh...

No, all that simply needs to be done is replace the display itself with the trip/temp/compass/miledge etc display. 2 Additional wires will need to be added. 1 for RAD power and 1 to Serial data (which you can pick up behind the radio or behind the ALDL) This appies to any truck from 96 to current. What do you think about the setup being weaker now? The area that held the steering "forces" was split over the whole 5-1/4+ piece, now, the contact point/area is much less, do you think this should be a concern? Not weaker what so ever, the stability factor of the entire shaft has actually improve...

I have read the post many times and things are not clear. What shaft did you purchase to replace the stock one? The year range , make , models and a part number would be great. This would be the most valuable piece of information. I was very clear on that. We used the 98+ Grand Chrokee shaft. It lo...

EDIT: This is not advised and may be unsafe. Read the whole thread. -HJ So it's me again with another how-to :rotf: So feeling a little bored, somewhat adventurous, and certifiably insane, I went for an incredibly dangerous mod. The reason I say it was dangerous, is that if I didn't do it slow and ...

All the benefits above are also available for XM. True, but Sirius has much better play lists, yes both are 12.95 a month and 6.99 for each additional unit. Sirius has Howard Stern (not for everyones taste.) Sirius only has 2 censored channels, XM has 5. XM has a tendancy to cut down long songs, Si...

How-to change the PITA #3 spark plug
So many threads have gotten started asking how to change the #3 plug because the intermediate shaft is in the way. "Typically" people say to wedge the socket on, use a wobble, this that an the other thing. They end up fighting with something they don't have to. So I've decided to show the "EASIEST" ...

The lowest price I could find on a fuel filter for my 2002 2.2 was $35. That is a foreign made one. The American made one was about $45. These things will last to 100G unless something bad goes wrong...and mine is gonna make it too...ha ha. They tell you to bleed the fuel pressure before changing.....

The elusive door spring tool
Well, a lot of people have no idea what a door spring tool is or where to get them. Simply put a door spring tool compresses the firming spring in the door jam. Removal and reinstallation of this spring is necessary when servicing your hinge pins, bushings and hinges on any car door. Unfortunatly I'...

If not, check with knaffle at www.zr2.com he makes a really nice set out of 3/8" hardened steel...Not like that crappy stuff you typically see in autoparts stores. He can make any size you want..
