I get a "wet dog" smell too in my blazer , usually when i start it up when parked facing downhill . and after a rain fall aswell . the windsheild glass steams up for a minute then it goes away . Dunno what it is .

I am not sure about the 98's , but my 99 blazer has the same front end as your cc's , the new style .
I am going to contact warn and double check , it is not often i find a aftermarket bumper for the New style S10 series .

I was reading about manual hubs , and there positives , Can we S10 with the Autotrac/electronic 4wd setups do it ?

Wierd whining sound coming from uner driverside while parked

I can hear a high pitch humming sound coming from under the driverside door area , while parked and idleing . Any thoughts ?

Also , when driving in "stop and go " traffic in the city , should i have it in "D" or "3" (transmission gear selection )

I have not really looked into the Dual battery setup , but there is more to it than that . I am sure someone can give you great details on it .

The portable unit i am looking at will not be used as a regular means to inflate tires then . Thanks for the tip .

I will definitley look around , there are a few out a the local auto store too , it would be great to have one with a compressor though , i don't plan on instaling a Air Compressor to activate lockers , so this would help out when i need to air down for those rough trails , but stuff like the radio ...

this battery that i WAS going to install , was going to be used to run aux 12V accessories , such as a power inverter , camp lights , fan while sleeping in back etc , all of which must be operational for upto 4 hours while truck is off , not all at once though .

I get noises too from my blazer , mechanic says it may be the BJ's .

When it is cold ,and i drive over speed bumps , I hear this creaky, groaning , sound from the front end .

if it runs , passes emisions testing(if you have it ) and can be insured , than take it . you can always sell it for a few hundred anyway . just so long as it is drivable .

that 2nd picture you posted , Ihave the exact same thing on my hood of my blazer .
But your milleage seems to be about the norm . maybe a little worse , but no more than 1-2mpg at most .
The 4.3L engines are not known to be the best on gas . Especially if you are comparing them to a Import V6 .

I would recomend the Mystery lift . Or just go with a SFA conversion . There have been complaints about IFS lifts , but then again . There are complaints about all lifts in some form or another .

hmmm... I thought you could run a 10.5" wide tire on the stock rims with out having to air them down ?, so you wont get uneven wear . That's one reason i hate living here ( Vancouver Canada ) we don't get much snow , if fact , this year is the earliest we have had a snow fall in November (in the last 10yrs ), and it was only 1" of snow ! . Usually we have 1, maybe 2 "major" snow falls each winter , and it only ends up being like 4...

looks good , but they look wider that others I have seen . Are they different ?
I thought that the flares where about the same width as a ZR2 flare . Doesn't matter though they look good .

go to the distributation section and you can find out who else sells there products , but it looks like they love toyota's and Fords the most .
