its been cold in northern michigan, but not much snow to speak of. january 12 was the last day that we were above freezing. yesterday we hit mid 20's and it felt GREAT! :lol: we even had a week straight below zero.....but not much snow. jdeller, good to see you made it onto this site! Basically, if you want to know anything about these trucks...someone on here will help you out. i think a body lift, add-a-leafs or shackles, and a mild TB crank is just where the crewcabs need to be 8)

IMHO the best thing to do for better millage is nothing. take all the money you would spend in add-ons and put it in your gas tank. let's do a little math you currently get 15 MPG in town and we'll say gas is $2.25 a gallon and you fill up once a week and a half with 16 gallons, you get 240 miles on...

kinda sucks because gas prices were part of the reason i sold my truck :cry:

i'll chip in my $20 (if that) exhaust idea again. just go to a muffler shop and have them cut out your muffler and put in a test pipe. 20 bucks and 20 minutes (if that). that'll free up your exhaust for cheap. you can add a nice tip for style if you'd like do the airbox mod and buy a K&N replacement...

i always thought of the 4.3L as a "grunt" motor, good low end torque with lacking horsepower to match the torque numbers. i think the more emphasis on low end power yields the bad gas millage. :? if it was balanced more like 250 horse and 250 ft lbs of torque that still got 22-23 MPG then i could ju...

definitly call around.....that sucks if you only have one option. when i priced out my BDS lift, i got quoted from $2100 down to $1400 for the kit, and $1100 in labor down to $600 in labor....obviously i went with the $1400 kit and $600 labor. had to drive an hour and a half to get there but it save...
