Rear End GONE!
Replaced the tranny last year b/c the "Sun Gear" fragmented. Then had a grinding sound from the drive train when coming off the gas on the interstate (like coming up on a slower car and take foot off gas...."rumble"). Up on a lift, the whole axle shook like hell on decel from 55mph and there was pla...

What's our idle supposed to be set to?
Recently my truck has started to shut off at stop lights when sitting at idle. It looks like it's only idling around 500rpm. I can catch it sometimes by just tapping the accelerator. I just got new plugs installed at the dealer (just because it's a pain to get at the back ones), but I can't imagine ...

Yeah, I know. I have the 3.42 stock gears. I just wanted everyone to know that the downshifting problem will be there, but it's not bad for daily driving. With the cruise control on is when you notice it the most. I only did a big T-bar crank; no lift. But if you look at the adjusters, the right bol...

They're very nice. Just as good a traction as my Geolandars and even better in the wet b/c they clear so much water. I'm only running 35psi and they don't seem all that stiff (C load rated tires). They are great driving over curbs, speed bumps, etc. Quiet too. They don't rub (only have rear 1.25" sp...

I went to Big10 tire who had four Revo 30X9.5X15's in stock at Noon for $100 less than any other dealer $595 installed w/ warranty (way less than even the Firestone store). I get there after work and they sold them. Now I'm waiting for them to ship from out of state and it just started snowing! I'll...

Bridgestone Revo Tires "C" Rating
I have a 2001 CrewCab w/ 1.25" rear spacers on stock rims and after reading the threads on this topic I have some questions before purchase. 1. C means its rated higher for "work truck" like jobs right? So what's the ride like compared to the "SL" standard load versions? 2. They have an SL rated tir...

1.25" Hub Centric Spacers
Are these the one's y'all are using? "I have 1.25 hub centric, but not sure they will fit all S10. The center bore is 70.7mm and 13.5mm deep. If these will work for you, here's the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7954005280 Thanks" The ebay guy said may not fit...

What y'all are describing is definitely the Tbar crossmember hitting the frame. I had the same problem that can be fixed for a short while by spraying in lithium grease w/ a fine nozzle into the "pork-chop" articulating area. Chevy shimmed both sides, but I read in another thread that there service ...

It IS the Crossmember hitting the frame guys. On turning enough to make the truck sway on its suspension, the torsion bars are supposed to "twist back" against this force with the "pork chops" sliding in a circle inside the crossmember. Well, they are pressed so tight in there that they bind up unti...

It sounds like the torsion bar crossmember hitting the frame. The articulating heads of the torsion bar (look like nautilus shells) are really tight in the cross member. If you squirt white lithium grease all up around in there (hard to get it in the tight space) then drive it and it'll go away for ...

"Clunk" in chassis = Torsion bar X-member hitting
Hey, I have a problem. My torsion bar crossmember is hitting the frame at low speed maneuvering (ie parking lots) and sounds like a real loud popping/clunk under the front seats. At first I thought it was a CV joint, but kept getting louder. Mr.G supposedly fixed it (3 times now) by replacing the to...

What size spacer will clear stock studs?
I just reviewed every "spacer" thread on this site. Does anyone know for sure that the 1.25" rear spacers will clear the stock studs without trimming them? Some people said the 1.25" will clear. Others the 1.3" and some that a minimum of 1.5" are needed to clear. If someone would just say they ALL w...
