The tiny bike noise is the PCV solenoid vibrating on the throttle cable and transferring to the cab via the firewall. That one can be intermittent and hard to chase. Man, we are all over the board on this one! If, this was me, I would start checking the front end components and not worry about the TC, Tranny or diff yet. Make sure the TBs and front end components are good.

It really sounds like something simple that requires you to pull all of your hair out before tripping over the answer. I would start looking and connections and grounds being corroded due to your climate.

I can't recall anyone going this route so, you may be doing a little ground work with your LEDs. I have them in various places on my "heep". You may have to do a "flasher" mod to keep them from going into warp drive. Please keep us up to date with this mod.

Steve lives on the left coast and you live in PA. Each state has their own laws and inspection regulations that are in addition to the fed rules. Research PA inspection rules to be sure. Or we can discuss the current AZ reg that echoes the fed law and is so "in" to whine about.

Steve, very little load is actually on the threads themselves. Currie specs them to only 45 ft lbs. The vast majority of the load is below the threaded section on the tapered shaft. Napa hooked me up when Fastenal was a bust. $3.49 out the door. 1/2" x 20 die. I didn't have a 1" 12 pt socket but, a 1" boxed end wrench did the trick. I dropped by the house at lunch and did the deed.

Well, I just realized another downfall. :lol: (looking skyward now) The threaded portion spins pretty easily in the other part of the TRE. No and I wish that I had thought to snap a pic. I just used that photo for an example of the trailer I towed. I may still run by the place to do a poser shot. No sagging in the rear at all.
