I would personally go with 5/8" MDF and no thinner. You can get a 4x8' sheet from home depot for around $12 here in MS...

After doing some measuring, I'm sending the box back! They advertise an internal volume of .5 cf per sub, the box they sent me only has .3 cf per sub, so I'm going to get them to make me another one the right way.

Just got my box, it's a little different from the one in the pic, mainly because it doesn't fill the space in the bottom right corner of the truck, but it still looks fairly nice. The build quality is good, much better than I expected. I have a pair of CompVR 8"s on the way, I'll let you guys know h...

I haven't put my kick panels in my CC, but my intentions are to take my 5-1/4" kicker resolution components out of my dash, and put them in the kick panels, then move the 6" resolution components from the door to the dash (will take a little extra work), and finally to put a pair of RMB6 Resolution ...

Well shoot, I have some green LED washer lights on my truck I would have traded you for the stock washers. But two days after I got my truck (they came with it), I noticed they were coming on all the time so I cut all the wiring to them and painted them black.... I hate them, but I wish I had known ...

I'm rolling on stock rubber. 235/75/15 And 3.73 gears. The guy who had the truck before me had the body lift put on. I think he was running 22" wheels maybe, but when I got the truck with 18K miles, it had the stock tires and wheels.

I have a friend with a 99 S-10 X-Cab 2wd that used a B&M shift improver, and after putting about 80K miles on the truck with the B&M device in use, the started having major Tranny problems. I don't remember what exactly, but the B&M device was found to be the problem.

Does the Power Programmer involve upping the pressure in the Transmission? If so, I'll pass on it. Although I would like to drop my shift points by about 500 RPMs.

Thanks!

Firmer Tranny Shifts

Hey everybody, another stupid question that has been answered somewhere else I'm sure. I'm looking for a way to firm up my transmission shifts a bit, but not to the point of breaking the tires loose. I don't want to mess with the B&M deal because of the pump, but I'm apprehensive about a tranny shif...

A note of caution: I bought a set of these about a year ago for me Ext. Cab Sonoma (same ones fit), and these things are as flimsy as paper. I reinforced mine with a wood frame and fiberglass, otherwise I think they would crack if they were ever accidentaly bumped.

My main problem is that my gas mileage does not improve with highway driving. About two weeks ago, I went on a LONG trip (about 1200 miles), and I got roughly 15-16 MPG.

Gas Mileage

Could some of you guys post your gas mileage specs? My 2001 Crewcab gets HORRIBLE gas mileage, and I'm not a heavy-footed driver. I driver about 15 miles to work every day, at about 60 to 70 MPH, and then only about a mile of minor stop and go driving to my workplace. I get roughly 14 or 15 MPG when...

www.soundoffaudio.com

They make a customer dual 8" sub enclosure for CREW CABs!!!! Mine's on it's way now. You have only 4" of mounting depth to work with, but a pair of Kicker CompVR 8"s or RF HE 8"s work great. Oh, and the box is less that $100 shipped.

I just found out that my Torsion Bars have been cracked to the absolute max before I bought the truck, so I took it back to the dealer and made them put it in writing that they would warranty any problems caused by this for the entire life of my extended warranty (100k miles). Also, anyone tried 2" ...

After reading some other posts on this forum, I've decided against the Torsion Bar Lift, mainly due to the CV Boot problem. I like to have a vehicle that is as low-maintenance as possible, that's one reason I don't do much off-roading. I guess I'll just stick with my 2" Body lift and go with 265x75x...

Let me ask you guys another question.... Frame Rubbing does not really bother me (was used to it on another vehicle), but if I went with a decent brand 31x10.5x15 tire that wasn't extremely square, but presented a good tread surface, would they rub the fenders with my 2" body lift and 1" to 2" suspe...

Alrighty, I think I might have decided on a course of action. Since I have a 2" body lift, I think I'll raise the front end via the torsion bars, and raise the rear end via shackles. This should add 1" of suspension lift to my truck. Would 31x10.5x15 tires fit without rubbing at all on stock wheels?...

30's or 31's with a 2" bl

Hey everybody....I just found the site and I love it! I just bought (yesterday), an 01 S-10 CrewCab 4x4. The person who had it before me put a 2" body lift on it. I've verified that there are NO suspension lifts or mods. I've already got a pair of 2" wheel spacers on order to get those back tires ou...
