Re: Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
Stealership - for the low low price of 420 - said that a distributor pin or shim of some sort was what was causing the issue - it was an incorrect part and had wallowed out the hole, letting the distributor rattle around and causing the misfires. They also stated the part was almost brand new, so th...

Re: Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
So they replaced the distributor and it did not help - the truck is currently NOT misfiring at all but registering a p0300 code on all cylinders. Firestone at this point said they have no clue what to do. Will be taking it in to the dealership on Tuesday as the only other thing they could think of w...

Re: Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
Timing chain was 6 degrees off. Plan is to replace the distributor which should hopefully correct the issue as the misfire codes at this point are just phantom codes.

Re: Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
Caved and took it in to Firestone - engine was actively misfiring at low low speeds. Yesterday they thought it was the MAF sensor as oil from my K&N filter was present on it. Picked it up this morning - nope, still jacked. Took it back in and the code this time was p0335 - crank sensor A. Apparently...

Re: Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
Code came back, but it's no longer flashing. Not sure what exactly keeps causing it at this point. Any help or input would be appreciated.

Re: Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
Update - nothing really new. Mechanic ran it, said the misfires were all over (duh - P0300 means RANDOM multiples), but he warrantied out the recently replaced plug wires as those were the first point of failure he saw when he did the tune up last time. Now I just have to take it back out on the hig...

6 Disc fit in an 04 ZR5/Anyone Tried These Units?
While my crew is in the shop for the P0300 code at high RPMs, I was looking at modified stock audio, specifically this http://imgur.com/vCMCXi1 unit which an audio shop on Etsy sells - basically upcycled stock units with fresh buttons and auxillary/Bluetooth capabilities. My current stereo in my 04 ...

Re: Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
2004 with 115k, and to the best of my knowledge all OEM exhaust aside from a flowmaster muffler. I know about that converter killer - I had a 95 extended cab before this and chased issues for weeks before having to get a new set of spiders and replacing the exhaust from the converter all the way back.

Flashing SES Light - P0300 Code??
Hey guys, having kind of a mystery here. For reference I drive an 04 ZR5 with 115k miles. So I had an oil gasket leak that devolved into replacing that, the crank case gasket and cover, the water pump, and an ABS sensor and fuel tank pressure sensor solenoid valve while we were at it. My mechanic kn...

Re: Body/Interior Stuff - Preventing Rust, Seat Upgrade ?s,
Mine has the roof rack so no worries on that end thankfully (although a sunroof would be pretty neat). And good to know that older GM seats will still work in ours. I was a bit worried they may not if they swapped some pins around as they aged.

Re: Body/Interior Stuff - Preventing Rust, Seat Upgrade ?s,
Good looking out, I had already planned to bring a little AA converter kit to test all seat power functions before pulling them. It was also from what I'd gathered the easiest way to access the bolts if the seat was pushed back - just run it all the way up! In your research, did you ever see if GM h...

Re: Body/Interior Stuff - Preventing Rust, Seat Upgrade ?s,
A Bravada is definitely on my search list, funnily enough I was just reading in the overhead console thread all of the things HenryJ was swapping over. I attempted the self dimming mirror off a Saturn Vue in my 95 but after I cracked my windshield trying to get the old one out I said screw it and le...

Body/Interior Stuff - Preventing Rust, Seat Upgrade ?s, etc
Hey all, recently been thinking about how I want to go about upgrading my interior to leather. I know ZR5s did have a leather option, but there are almost none in any junkyards nationwide - good for reliability stats, bad for pick and pull options. I wanted to see if anyone here had done a swap, and...

Re: What did you do to your Crew today?
I managed to dodge that since mine had the ZR5 rails, the pop in stopped before going over the lip on the sides and towards the front it had rubbed the paint down to raw metal and was starting to rust, but thankfully not much. I didn't do anything to the crew today, but did hear back from Line-X: al...

Re: What did you do to your Crew today?
Speaking of rust, have you (or anyone here) experienced rust eating at the drip rail underneath the front of the bed? That is the area where I had rust cut out from the bed, and I worry if I leave that area alone it may continue. Thinking of popping the bed off the frame and cutting that whole area ...

Re: What did you do to your Crew today?
I totally hear that. Mine has 110k on it all, so I plan to run the 4.3 for at least another 100 until I may drop in a v8.

Re: What did you do to your Crew today?
Not today, but last Saturday. Had the guys at Line-X make my crews bed all pretty again. (Url will have to do for now because the [img] bit doesn't appear to work) http://imgur.com/7SZ0sgA Took a while: thanks to the pop in liner I had a few cancer spots eating through the bed, so a shop across the ...

Re: Best way to add 5" of lift?
Thanks a ton man, I appreciate you answering my questions. I love the S10, but so much of the info on mods for it have gone out the window due to time and photobucket going under. Even a year ago there was more info. Also, if you'll suffer a few more q's, what axles did you use? And did you have to ...

Re: Best way to add 5" of lift?
Thanks for the extensive reply. Body roll is about the only thing I worry about ride wise, as the highway on my daily commute has a section or two with some sharp curves (though I suppose I could always try taking those at the speed they recommend and not 20 over!). I'm 6' 2", so we're probably pret...

Re: Best way to add 5" of lift?
Not particularly, I just thought that five would be the best middle ground I could reach through a combo of body, suspension and MML lift. On the SAS, I have soooo many questions. How did you go about building it? Dana 30s, 44s, 60s? How many inches did you gain? How does it handle differently than ...

Re: Best way to add 5" of lift?
Did not know the 2.5 RC cranked the T-bars, interesting. Also didn't know a first gen 3 in body lift would work either. That would get my 5 in with .5 to spare. Is it basically just drop in? SAS is a possibility further down the road. We're about to have the family garage built, so right now I'm in ...

Best way to add 5" of lift?
Hey all, I just upgraded from a 95 extended cab to an 04 CC, and I'm wondering what the best way to go about this is. I've read about the MML (which makes some sense to me but also doesn't reach 5", I think), and I've also read some thoughts on the RC 2.5" lift (though I'm not sure how up to date th...
