Re: Lift questions
SFA is no small task. If you're looking for a small lift and maybe 32" tires I would seriously look at doing an XJ aftermarket long arm cross member and long arms (can't remember brand) with an HP30 and 4.10 gears. Then do a ford 8.8 in the rear. That will keep your track width relatively the same a...

Biggest question is are you swapping to a carbed 350 or fuel injection vortec 350? If you're swapping to the '96+ 5.7L you'll send the PCM out to get tuned to a 2002 Chevy 1500 cargo van. Then there is some re pinning of the ecm connector. Everything will work as it should with that swap.

I would double check what rear end you have. If indeed it is a gu6, then it is not an 8.5" it'll be a 7.5" or 7.6" in the late 90s. If you have an 8.5" ring gear you'll want to verify the ratio, it's possible someone swapped in a zr2 rear end and front diff. Only the zr2 trucks/blazers came with 8.5...

Re: '95 Jimmy 4.3 "W" OIL COOLER LINES holed.
The bad motor mounts are definitely why you're having the trouble replacing them. They really aren't that bad to replace and come out fairly simple when your motor is sitting in the correct spot. One of the reason those lines go bad is due to engine rock when the mounts get lose. The motor pulls on ...

Re: Remanufactured Brake Booster
It doesn't surprise me that AC and cardone have the same remanufacturing plant doing the work. The part world is not as big as what a lot of people think, especially reman.

Re: Radiator upgrade
I'm running a 195 degree stat. Your stat temp is simply the temperature it opens fully so running a lower stat temp once you get over that value it will not help cool the motor anymore. As far as your comment on checking for electrolysis in the cooling system. At NO time should you see over 3/10 of ...

Re: What did you do to your Crew today?
Fuel pump at 132k. EVAP line is so rusted that goes back to the canister and cracked. Had to fix with some rubber fuel hose and clamps (Part is discontinued). Also cleaned up and painted the filler neck as I hear that is not longer available either.

Re: PCM swap help!
The security code in it is what tells it it's not the original from the truck. That's what the security relearn does. I've got the same year truck as you and the BCM I took out of the blazer was a believe a 2000. No vehicle VIN mismatch because they didn't call for it back then. Wasn't til the later...

Re: PCM swap help!
Is the security light flashing when you're trying to start it? When doing the BCM swap from a blazer with tow haul mode I had to do the key relearn because that's what looks for the key signal. So yes, doing a key relearn does work in that fashion and no scan tool is needed. I would double check the...

Re: Can i grease(lithium)my sway bar bushings?
If you were going to lube I would either use the white lithium paste and take the bushings out and do it or use a synthetic grease. Can't remember the name but it's green grease made by permatex and comes in a white bottle with green logo, screw cap with a brush inside. The white lithium sticks real...

Re: Superlift FIT 6" lift with Rocugh Country A arms
Crew cab frame is the same width as a standard 4x4. The arms are no different between any 4x4 or zr2 as well, they use different mounting points to gain the extra width stance on the zr2, hence the wider frame. Look up replacement parts at your favorite part store if you would like to verify. Think ...

Re: CONSTANT miss, throws 300 code.
You sound like you've been having a similar issue to what I've been dealing with as well. Even though mine will throw a 300 random misfire, upon actually having a scan tool hooked up it was just one cylinder, cylinder 3 that will misfire. It happens after a hard accel onto the freeway and when you b...

Does your 2001 still have the EGR valve on it? The 04 won't. That'll also effect the ECM programming just a heads up.

Re: Tranny died again for the third time
Sounds like a shop I would stay away from. I know s### happens but seems like a lot of problems. Most shops usually just order in a reman trans to save time on a vehicle being tied up on a hoist because time is money. Easier and quick to pull the trans and put a reman unit in. Then if something's wr...

Re: Distributor Cap and Rotor - Comparison and Review
Anyone on here ever run a Techsmart distributor? They are part of SMP (Standard Motor Products) and their Techsmart division is USA made. Thinking my new Cardone one from 3 years ago might have bit the dust. Gotta pull it and check the gear and bearings.
